I like using Banner Finance to know how much money we have in our budget for purchasing items within our budget. It is very easy to navigate and toggle through the application. What do you dislike about Elllucian Finance? I dislike that one must tab through the requisition screen to move along or can utilize the mouse feature with the up arrow. We are solving problems such as eliminating non sufficient funds issues one may encounter when not knowing how much money they have in their budgets. Academic Advisor Enterprise (\> 1000 emp.) 6/18/2019 "Banner 9 Cons" 4/5 What do you like best about Elllucian Finance? Banner 9 Finance screens are easier to view and navigate. The help screens allow you to do more than in Banner 8. However, it takes longer to complete simple tasks because the shortcuts available in Banner and did not carry over to Banner 9. Although, I do enjoy using the MyBanner feature and navigating in different screens and coming back to the same screen without loosing or having to save information. I truly miss the shortcuts from Banner 8, which did not carry over to Banner 9; therefore, it takes longer to complete simple tasks. Once you hit enter to save the information the program redirects you to the beginning page and you have to enter into the previous screen; therefore, tasks take longer to complete. I like how well the program is organized and split in sections for different departments, some work with students other work with budget and finance like me. I enjoy the fact that this is very speedy process, and that sometimes if I need to go someplace quickly I just type in or chose the section that I want to go to. I like what I can see in it as well. I am working with payments for the university so I use banner to track our account and see how our ORG i financially for the fiscal year. I do a lot of banner Finance, and not as much student part as every Banner user has a different access for safety purpose which is what I love about it. The University at which I used it was able to use it for finance and accounting, student aid, bursar's office - pretty much any department that deals with finance. Straightforward budget queries. Banner 9 offers some new features that we will be rolling out shortly such as stored history and spend tracking. The interface, at least as it is implemented at our organization, is lackluster and basic. This could mean that Ellucian is putting more effort into the backend functionality than the GUI, but it would be nice to have a more polished user interface.
