Working with their PM team - they listened to our unique request and gauged our own background to find us a team that has gotten up to speed quickly and starting to take on more and more responsibility in development approaches and processes. Additionally, knowing we are a startup - they were flexible in getting us setup and going, while being very clear what requirements were needed for them and by when. What do you dislike about Edvantis? Currently Edvantis (and the team they found for us) are everything we could expect. Cliche’ - but at this time we have no reasonable dislikes with the engagement. Recommendations to others considering Edvantis: We are an independent team with contributors physically located all over the world (Germany, UK, US, Chile) so we were already working in a wide, multi-timezone set up which comes with specific challenges. Especially where it related to communication, priority setting, and developer autonomy (needed to solve meaty problems). Adding the Edvantis team was a natural extension for us and they connected right into our existing workflows and communication tools. If you are not already familiar with such remote setups (and you have 8hour+ time shifts) - be sure to spend some energy on your side organizing your thoughts, communication tools, and development systems. I am sure they can help you with this if needed - but it is better if you can connect them to existing workflows then try to create all new workflows while adding a new team. We are a bootstrapping startup working to build a functional prototype with technologies that are extremely new and rapidly evolving. To pull this off, we needed a small team who are skilled in software best practices but not set in “old” ways of thinking, while being intrinsically driven to learn new core and open source technologies. Edvantis was able to find talented individuals who have both engaged with us to address functionality, but also regularly participate in the appropriate communities to shape and in some cases guide emerging standards for others as well. From this information, the team accurately predicted the development effort and timeline. Although there have been some inconsistencies with their teams' quality, Edvantis is always very receptive to our feedback and quick to fix any mistakes or inconsistencies. The management staff is easy to work with and through with monthly progress checkins. The testers are skilled and learn quickly. What problems is Edvantis solving and how is that benefiting you? Edvantis has provided professional individuals for our development group. I work directly with their quality assurance professionals. The have provided skilled testers and enhanced our automation test suites. Within two quarters one team went from 0% post build automation to over 75%. This has cut the number of hours spent on regression and deployment time by more than half.
