The SC ship interiors already have a lot of cool and convenient details. Having this area that feels inhospitable, as if it weren't made for comfort, and as it is a folding structure, it isn't even meant to be permanent. It gives me the same feeling as going through a construction zone or going through a construction site. It's not necessary dangerous, but it's not pretty or comfortable either, but it has a nice vibe for a large cargo ship with an industrial look. **What do you dislike about EA Digital Tools?** I find the ladder between the bulk of the ship and the living area to be the biggest problem, as it means that all equipment, gear, food, and injured people must go that far. An elevator next to it would be much better. Imagine living in a house with two floors and the kitchen on the top floor, separated only by a ladder. **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** There is a valid point about the large component sizes versus the traversal space needed to move or replace them. IRL, components such as these are usually replaced in a shipyard, where they cut a hole in the hull to remove them. Repairs of this kind would be triaged to determine if it can be fixed at the subcomponent level or smaller before considering higher-level repairs such as shipyard work.If CIG redesigns the game components to be broken down into smaller segments so they fit through hatches, they could be assembled onsite in front of the component bays. ### 2. Security seems to be first rate. Donation pages can be customized. This is helpful if you want to create something that matches the look of your other branded materials. Talking to people, I believe the processing fees are lower with this product as well. I didn't get to explore it much, but QuickDonate seems like a worthwhile feature. It is a way to target repeat donors/supporters. **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Online and offline advocacy and fundraising. Benefits realized - driving engagement, mobilizing action, fundraising, online and offline abilities. ### 3. It is cost-effective and a reliable source. **What do you dislike about EA Digital Tools?** The free version is not very good. Also, it is very hard to maintain lists because records on based on an email address. **Recommendations to others considering EA Digital Tools:** Either pay for the additional features or choose another system. **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mass email communications ### 5. It allows us the opportunity to refine and improve the way we reach our audience via email marketing. I like that I can sort and segment our lists based on the analytics we are provided. **What do you dislike about EA Digital Tools?** I wish you could better define active subscribers. We don't use BSD to fundraise and for us we had to manually count how many subscribers opened or clicked an email in the last six month because that's how we defined active. I would like to see more flexibility in the portion **Recommendations to others considering EA Digital Tools:** Strengthen your user experience to make the platform more user-friendly **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use BSD for email marketing to reach segmented audiences on our list. We love the analytics that BSD offers but I think there is an opportunity to provide stronger insights on the individual emails themselves. I think it would be helpful to have richer data without having to go into the overall email analytics. ### 6. It sends quickly and have lots of useful tools as well. **What do you dislike about EA Digital Tools?** Communication can be sometimes lacking -- especially during the outage that occurred last year, we received no notification. **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Managing a high volume of email to a large list efficiently -- good tools and data gathering. ### 7. It's been a particular issue in 2016. Additionally, there's not enough flexibility with forms - they're used strictly for a donor cohort, and the flexibility with respect to certain gateways/merchants doesn't allow for donor-friendly options, like recurring billing. **Recommendations to others considering EA Digital Tools:** It's great if your donors are highly segmented. Otherwise, it's not especially versatile. **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** 20% of our fundraising is electronic - we need an e-commerce platform to make giving easy and accessible to our donors. ### 8. If users do not have extensive technical experience this platform quickly gives staff a way to have an e-mail list and platform. It includes some basic things like A/B testing. It also had a pretty good import and export function for contact lists. **What do you dislike about EA Digital Tools?** The interface is not mobile responsive making editing emails on an iPhone on the go difficult. There is an API and some developer tools but the documentation is not amazing. Furthermore the page speed on the individual donation pages is quite slow. It also lacks many of the features available in commercial e-mail marketing platforms like MailChimp and CampaignMonitor. For example MailChimp and CampaignMonitor include the ability to tell where your e-mails were opened and have advanced responsive design editors and integration with Litmus to quickly see how your e-mail looks on multiple platforms. Also there were not many templates to start with so you had to hardcode much of the good stuff. **Recommendations to others considering EA Digital Tools:** If you are able to look at similar commercial tools like MailChimp, CamapignMonitor, and Stripe. **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a platform to send e-mails to our e-mail list and receive donations and it did in fact work for this. ### 9. It is not difficult to export donations. **What do you dislike about EA Digital Tools?** I dislike that constituent records are based on e-mail address. It makes it difficult to segment and maintain lists. The reporting is also very limited. Most of the time you can't get the information you want without a lot of manual work outside of BSD. The customer support is also not great. **Recommendations to others considering EA Digital Tools:** I would choose another option or pay for additional features. **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our mass e-mail communications. ### 10. It's definitely the easiest to use in that sense. **What do you dislike about EA Digital Tools?** It doesn't have a lot of integrated features that other companies have. It's not as user-friendly. **Recommendations to others considering EA Digital Tools:** Definitely do a comparison with other companies first. BSD is great in some places, but others are better. **What problems is EA Digital Tools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Better campaign finance software and campaign management.
