I suppose there are a lot of prep features I can't understand. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Agility?** If you want to use the product to its fullest potential then you have to follow the version one way of doing things. It doesn't adapt well to existing or custom business processes. You'll spend a lot of time trying to modify both to make them fit. There are an overwhelming number of options from the main menu and the naming conventions make it even more confusing. Once you're proficient, you can hop around and answer nearly any question you'd like. The best portfolio management tools include parent/child portfolio relationships and the ability to copy tasks. If you're using some form of agile, this software helps you out - we use "scrumban" to PM learning development projects. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Agility?** It's clunky, unattractive and difficult to use - it's just not user friendly and has fairly significant limitations. You can't produce project status reports or create meaningful timelines out of it. If you don't spend a fair amount of time upfront to customize your views, you'll be digging for awhile to get the answers that you need. It always surprised me when a PM would ask how to find something that I'd customize and then I'd check out where they were looking - it was fairly obvious that the system isn't really established to make life easy until you're pretty competent in it. **Recommendations to others considering Digital.ai Agility:** If you're using an agile approach to product development, certainly consider the product; however, ensure your implementation/rollout/training plan is sufficient to allow for the steep learning curve such as we experienced during its introduction. **What problems is Digital.ai Agility solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've been able to get a clear view of the overall company portfolio and portfolio prioritization. The primary use of the software is to plan people's time and to resource new work. We were able to do this fairly well - the biggest gap was the amount of time it would take to keep things up to date meant that often during resource planning, we'd have incomplete data to make decisions on. PMs were frustrated with trying to keep this software up to date, knowing that with its limitations, they were working in other software options to produce things like status reports, project timelines, calendar invites, and budgets. ### 17. It's very easy to work through each sprint, release, project with flexible hierarchy and rool-up/drill-down capabilities. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Agility?** We discovered too late that our backlog export was limited. We needed to bring it to our new company after an acquisition and found out that some fields were truncated. There was no easy way to handle HTML or attachments but I guess that's to be expected. The truncation problem, however, forced us to try to recall and recreate stories. It takes a lot of work to get to this point but the burn up, burn down, velocity, and other charts are good tools for simplifying large amounts of information for higher ups. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Agility?** The speed of the web app is...uh, slow. It was very difficult to use especially on our moderate enterprise network. Very frustrating, to be honest. Additionally, the learning curve for getting up and running and productive is large with VersionOne. The price of the flexibility and configurability of this tool is the extensive learning curve. **Recommendations to others considering Digital.ai Agility:** My personal recommendation based upon extensive use for many projects and applications would be to find a different solution for your agile or project management or work-organization needs. VersionOne is too complex, slow, broad, etc to be extremely useful (based upon my experience and the experiences of our 15+ engineering team). **What problems is Digital.ai Agility solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our business unit used VersionOne for about two years in an attempt to implement a blended agile/waterfall development environment. The tool has been used successfully in other business units in our enterprise but, ultimately, VersionOne wasn't useful for our team in the long-term. ### 23. Data is retained well in the software and can be easily found. It is web based service so you can essentially access it from anywhere. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Agility?** Lacks intuitiveness, so basically its not very user friendly and you kind of have to know it to use it. Pretty intuitive UI as for moving stories around and marking off hours. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Agility?** From my experience, it doesn't allow for collaboration on stories with comments and such very well. For example, it would be nice if our tester could put a story from "done" to "in progress" with a comment saying the reason for the change (what is failing and how). Currently our testers either edit the description to add the reason... or send out an email. **What problems is Digital.ai Agility solving and how is that benefiting you?** Keeping track of stories to help things move through and help people know what they are working on. ### 30. When reading the story accidental clicks and unclicks cause description of story to be change. I find myself having to click around different menus to get to where I want to go. The team rooms offer a place to see your team's (and only your teams) backlog, a storyboard for the current sprint, taskboard for the current sprint and a slew of other options. It also includes the mini-game 'Estimably' which helps teams estimate stories anonymously without an confusion as to what story we are actually estimating. Overall, it's a great feature and makes it really easy to dive in and get a quick birds eye of where the team stands. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Agility?** Looking at the product backlog can be very confusing. VersionOne doesn't include (at least in my implementation) a marker of which Epic, or if you are in the team room, which project a story belongs too. We had to adjust the naming convention of the stories to include an acronym describing which feature epic and which functional epic the story comes from. Additionally, VersionOne for whatever reason, renamed everything to do with Epics in their platform to "Portfolio Items." Which to anyone with a scrum background is generally pretty confusing. I'm not sure why they made the change and while at it's heart it's just a label change, it's annoying that the deviated from standard agile terminology. **Recommendations to others considering Digital.ai Agility:** There's a lot of great features within VersionOne that you won't find anywhere else. But what it makes up in innovative features, it falls down in that it's not quite as customization as some of other competitors on the market. VersionOne has a clear vision of how you should be using the product, and deviating from the vision is difficult to successfully implement. There are some features of the application that were implemented without a clear goal in mind, such as the "Add an Inline Story." On the surface, it looks like a quick easy to add a story. But there aren't options to add in Epics or Sub-epics to keep track of where the story goes. Outside of the backlog, where the functionality exists, it's not clear what happened to the story and it's not easy to track down in your portfolio view. Additionally, with all the innovative features comes an 'innovative' price tag. Many of the innovative features will probably be overkill for smaller, and there are more affordable options. For larger organizations, the transparency and planning across many teams and many products makes VersionOne a much more attractive option. **What problems is Digital.ai Agility solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are a large organization implementing agile development across multiple teams, in multiple locations/countries. VersionOne allows us to have greater transparency up and down the line -- from the the status of a portfolio of products, down to the status of a specific story in a given sprint. The reporting has allowed us to project well in advance on the health of the project and raise concerns to upper management much earlier than we would have been able to in the waterfall method. ### 47.
