"Feature-Rich Content Creation with Strong Video and Audio Tools"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Descript?

I love this platform for the availability of almost all needed feature for content creation purposes. I love the capability of this platform to record videos and clean up videos for optimal output of the content. This platform can also record audio and also translate the audio into major languages. The capability of this platform to auto detect language is commendable. The proactive prompts available on this platform also enhances the efficiency of the user. I also love this platform capability to create the video content using the avatars. Other than this we can also generate subtitle for videos easily by using this platform. The platform interface was good and the onboarding of this platform is also fast. I also love the capability of this platform to choose from various AI models which assist in improving the quality of task with specific AI to do Specific job. What do you dislike about Descript?

I love most part of this platform but I wish that the processing speed was little faster. I also wish that the interface of this platform can be made more user friendly. I also wish that there was an application link given on this platform which will allow user to directly download the application. I wish that the output of this platform have more improved result and increase its reliability. I also wish that the pricing of this platform was more moderate. Having better integration for this platform will make this platform more powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AI Avatar features didn't work — and neither did the refund promise"
0/5
What do you like best about Descript?

NA - Nothing. The promises were unmet, and the AI tool Underlord -- well, it lives up to its name. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

The AI Avatar/Underlord features are unreliable and the support process for resolving billing issues caused by those failures is worse. I spent days trying to produce one usable video. Underlord gave contradictory instructions throughout — each suggested fix created a new problem. AI credits were charged for Avatar generations that never completed. I brought in an outside AI consultant for a full day of dedicated work, and even she couldn't produce a working result on the platform.

Support did acknowledge the failures initially: they processed a $400 refund and offered an additional $545.48, which I accepted in writing. The $400 arrived. The remaining $545.48 — which they offered, not just me requesting — has never been paid, and I've had no response to follow-ups since. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Makes Video Editing Much Easier for Teaching and Content Creation"
5/5
What do you like best about Descript?

What I like best about Descript is that it is very easy to use and I was able to start without any technical knowledge. The best part for me is the transcript feature, it converts whatever I speak in video into text and the accuracy is quite good. I can edit my video just by editing the text, which really saves time in my daily work.

In my routine I handle diet guidance, manage a homeopathy clinic and also create health education content, so I make videos for teaching and patient explanation. I use it regularly. Features like automatic transcription, subtitles, filler word removal and basic audio clean up are very helpful for me. It makes my videos more clear and easy to understand for patients and students.

Setup was simple and I did not face any issue while starting. It fits well with my workflow, I can import my recorded videos and edit without any problem. Number of features are enough for my type of work, not too complex.

I did not need much support but whatever help or guides I checked were simple. Overall it helps me create better and clean videos without wasting much time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

when I work on longer videos with full transcript, sometimes it takes a little time to scroll and find the exact line I want to edit. It does not stop the work, but editing can feel slightly slow at that moment. Also sometimes I need to correct a few words in transcript manually, especially for medical or diet terms. "Game-Changing Text-Based Editing That Makes Audio/Video Feel Like a Google Doc"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Descript?

Hands down, the text-based editing.

Being able to edit audio or video just by deleting words in a transcript makes the whole process feel like working in a Google Doc rather than wrestling with a complex timeline. It’s a total game-changer for speed and sanity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

The performance and resource usage can be a real headache. It’s a notorious CPU hog, so if you don't have a beefy computer, you might hear your fans spinning like a jet engine.

Also, the cloud dependency is frustrating—if your internet is spotty, syncing and exporting can slow to a crawl, making it hard to work on the go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Video Editing with Standout AI Features, Needs Logo Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Descript?

I really like Descript's interface; it's easy to use, especially since I'm not very techie with editing software. It's like Canva – an all-in-one tool that's easy to use for editing. I appreciate the specific editing tool or AI that helps keep focus on the camera, which is very helpful for me as a VA and in making introduction videos look more professional. The tool's ability to show full captions without uploading and transcribe specifically provides valuable insights. I also enjoy the complete AI tools which are easy to use without needing to subscribe. Saving videos is easy and it enhances video quality, making them more professional or efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

By saving a video, it has a huge logo on it. I wanted some programs to be more efficient. The logo after saving is an issue if you're not on the upgrade or if you're not availing any promo or subscription. That's just a bit eek for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Game-Changing Text-Based Editing That Saves Time"
4/5
What do you like best about Descript?

What I like most about Descript is that it makes editing so easy. I mean, the text editing is a game changer. Instead of using complicated timelines, you can simply edit the text and it will automatically change the video or audio. It’s really time-saving, especially if you have a podcast or talking videos. I also like the features that use AI, such as removing filler words and enhancing the quality of the audio. The transcription is fast and accurate most of the time, and everything is in one place. Also the ease to integrate with many things and the customer support was. I use it all the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

Sometimes the app may feel a bit slow or glitchy, especially with larger projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Descript Makes Editing Effortless with Transparent AI in Real Time"
5/5
What do you like best about Descript?

What I liked best about Descript was the incredible ease of use and how efficient the entire editing process became. It was fascinating to see the model show its thinking process in real time, which really added a layer of transparency and confidence in the AI's output. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

If I had to offer one critique, I’m not a huge fan of the watermark on the free version. However, I realize that’s mostly just nitpicking on my part, as I clearly see the immense value and professional quality the platform provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless, Precise Prompts That Save Editors Time"
5/5
What do you like best about Descript?

I really like how easy it is to use, things get done with just a prompt, and it follows instructions very precisely. It saves a lot of time and effort for song, music, and video editors, which is really awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

It uses a lot of credits, and I’m still not sure how tokens/credits are being counted here. Is it based on the instructions, the word limit, the processing of those instructions, or something else? I honestly don’t know. Sometimes it also messes with earlier instructions, which makes it feel like it doesn’t have a memory-saving feature to refer back to past conversations. "Highly Effective Text-Based Editing for Podcasts and Media"
5/5
What do you like best about Descript?

The text based editor is very effective for our podcasts and media. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

I think the recording studio for virtual interviews could use some improvements. We work in highly regulated and compliance heavy organizations where there are a lot of technology firewalls and the industry thoughts leaders are typically older and not tech savy.

Mix those together and the guesting experience and workflow are sometimes challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Descript’s Magic: Effortless Transcript Editing for Professional-Quality Video"
5/5
What do you like best about Descript?

This is the "magic" of Descript. When you upload media, it automatically transcribes it. If you want to cut a scene, you don't hunt for the clip on a timeline; you just highlight the text in the transcript and hit delete. The powerful tool for generating professional high-quality video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

Unlike Premiere Pro, which can proxy files efficiently, Descript often struggles to keep the video preview in sync with the text transcript during heavy edits.

Features that were previously "unlimited" (like certain AI effects) now consume credits. For high-volume teams, the price can jump from $30/month to hundreds of dollars very quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
