I'm in domestic so it's not really very helpful. We have many redundant processes and can't even pull accurate data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Descartes Forwarder Enterprise Suite? How it's domestic side is neglected and we can't produce a rate/quote sheet. We instead create an external excel sheet to send out. Then we have to save each email with pertinent information and upload it to the truvis. After that we have to put billing in which we've already done, just on the external excel sheet. It's allowed me to keep track of which shipment is which and assigns a file number. I could do this very easily myself but is it nice the company is consistent with these file numbers. What I like best about Descartes Forwarder Enterprise Suite is how it brings so many parts of our workflow into one system. We handle air, ocean, and intermodal shipments, and DFES really helps us stay on top of customs compliance for cross-border moves. It also streamlines our billing and accounting — we can generate invoices directly for clients, service providers, and carriers without juggling multiple systems. On the operations side, I find it especially useful for quoting, rating, booking, and tracking shipments. I always suspect new systems are going to be complex at first glance, but I quickly realized how intuitive it is once you start working with it. Even areas like customizing document templates turned out to be straightforward, and the more I used the system, the more I appreciated how well it’s designed to support daily operations. It keeps our customs compliance organized, streamlines billing and invoicing, and centralizes shipment tracking across air, ocean, and intermodal modes. But primarily: having all of this information in one platform reduces errors, saves time, and gives me/our team real-time visibility into every shipment.
