One of the main attractions of the ITMR4 program we use in the office is the possibility of how it can be used. I love how amazing the reporting is with Descartes Customs & Compliance Suite. The mass adjustment and great stock management features are incredibly handy. It's really easy to add the PGA ID requirements, and the system makes it simple to save and submit to CBSA. I also find it great that I can manage IID effortlessly. They need to modernize the look of the program. It still looks like it's from the nineteen hundreds, and it should look more like a modern version, like 2026. I like how user-friendly the platform is. Aesthetically, it may look a little "old-school", but there's no extra fluff and it's just very clear. Since all the new tariffs, I like that the system will remind me what additional tariffs might be required based on the HTS code used on a given line. Since all the changes in duty and entry-writing, Descartes and NetCHB have tried their best to integrate as many reminders of the new changes and also just help the brokers and entry writers implement the new changes as best they can, so I really appreciate that for me and my team. I dislike how many system glitches and shut downs there have been in the past year. I'm not sure if it's a CBP server issue or a Descartes NetCHB issue, but the slow down on transmissions made it really hard for us to go about our daily operations. I love the almost personalized support. It seems like the same tech support rep answers my questions or troubleshoots technical issues each time. What originally attracted me and my company to the product was the ability to upload large files of entry data to save time instead of having to spend hours manually entering individual lines. I like that weekly and sometimes daily updates are listed on the Resources landing page. It keeps you up to date on the newest features available. Software is very simple to setup & get accustomed to. Having cloud based means I'm able to simply login online and be 100% operational. This means I can work remotely with no worries about having to find coverage, or think twice about making plans. Very happy with the flexibility it has given me. I really appreciate that Descartes Customs & Compliance Suite allows us to maintain compliance with the support of a team that always keeps us updated with the necessary standards needed to meet all government of Canada requirements. I've been using it since about 2008, and I've had a positive experience with the day-to-day requirements. The support team is easily reachable via email and is responsive whenever there are new customs notices and legislations, ensuring that our tools are up to date. Sometimes, deploying certain solutions can be delayed, and I've had to reach out to the team on several occasions over several months just to get a conversation going or to get an LOA issued. Also, communication could be better at times, especially when we request more holistic solutions or modules that might not be fully fleshed out. The tool is very broad, especially the licensing tool. I would have liked more help documentation that clearly explains each field and feature, because right now it only covers the top-level flow. This lack of detail makes it difficult to train my team on how to use the tool properly, and it has slowed adoption and delayed us from getting the value we expected from it. It’s user-friendly and easy to navigate through the different tabs. The layout is clear, easy to read, and simple to understand. I also like the personalization options to send notifications and receive email notifications. I like having the ability to copy certain data and pages as well. Certain things can be annoying. For example, I have to enter the state manually each time, and I wish it would auto-populate based on the port code being used. On the invoice page, I also wish there were a function to rearrange the HTS codes into the correct order, instead of deleting and re-entering everything one by one just to fix the sequence. I like Descartes Customs & Compliance Suite for its ease of use. It's really helpful for dealing with duty rates and outlining issues like HS numbers, proper Schedule B, and classification when looking at multiple countries.
