**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

Everything that I want to do is achievable with a simple click of a button. Other software requires custom code or extensions. For example, to export your results into an Excel document using this software is a single click!

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The interface could be simpler to use and more intuitive. I will google how to do something in the software if I haven't tried it before. Everything I want to do is found using a quick google search and review of the help documents.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can interrogate my many databases and perform from basic to complex updates and edits without writing tons of code. Furthermore, the formatting options are available and very helpful when trying to work with bulk data.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

None to dislike, but a little complaint is a bit slow to start application, but isn't a problem.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use PostgreSQL and SQL Server DB. Before using DBVis we use propietary IDEs like PGAdmin, SQL Server Management, and with DBVis we use one tool for all. Practical, simple and reliable. We use since 7x version.

  ### 5. The best database viewer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johnny M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

Having used DbVisualizer for 10+ years now, I really enjoy the slick GUI as well as making my work with databases more efficient

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The default set up with comments not being automatically stripped out when using -- or // and that this needs to be configured in order to work

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides me with a complete overview and easy to use tools

  ### 6. Powerful product, for any database, with strong features and good support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergio S. | CEO - Responsabile diretto area Progetti - iDashboards Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2021

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

Compatibility with any database, strong editor features, nice/useful monitor module, cmd line interface with a few dedicated command, good import/export modules, frequent patch releases, drivers management, good support even with the lower license model

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

Lack of some (minor) db-system commands, settings for import/export cannot be (until now) fully saved, some limitation in sharing the same settings among users

**Recommendations to others considering DbVisualizer:**

Try it, Use it, enjoi it... Very likely if you think at a needed feature for a db-client, DbVisualizer has already got it!

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We work hard in ETL projects and database management. DbVisualizer is the only tool we need for the latter tasks and anyway it can be integrated with powerful ETL tools like pentaho or Talend.
We can rather always avoid to use proprietary db-clients like Visual Studio or Workbench, so it's easy to skill people (only one tool, not many)
We've been using DbVisualizer since 2005, and it's still one of the best tool we have.

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

My company has a diverse set of systems for IT, Finance, Forecasting, and Manufacturing and we use multiple databases from Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AS/400 DB2, Sparks, etc. DBVisualizer allows me to quickly connect to these databases and do any data manipulation I need to do for my work. I need to do integration work frequently and the first tool I start with has always been DBVisualizer. The best features for me are its easy-to-understand menu system and the diverse output options it supports. I use it daily to extract the data I need from one system and integrate them with other systems.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

None that I can think of. DBVisualizer has been great.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff S. | Teaching Professor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

There are so many aspects of DBVisualizer to highlight. If I had to pick one aspect, it's the incredible flexibility to use it with just about any data source.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

I have no dislikes when using DBVisualizer

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a professor teaching a Graduate Database class. I haven't taught graduate databases in over 15 years. I am compeltely rewriting the case with a foundation on real world problems. I wanted a product that was easy to get started with, but had enough room to grow into a professional tool. The course does a deep dive into very complex SQL and I wanted something that students could build queries visually, but also show how the SQL is coded.DBvisualizer handles all of this.

Importantly, when I touch new software, almost without fail, I find strange edge cases. I like teaching my classes showing what can go wrong in the real world, so these edge cases are near and dear to me. I reported the few issues I found with DVVisualizer and they were immediately responsive. In a case or two, it was simple user error. A few were bugs and where possible they showed me workarounds until they fixed the codebase. Most recently, it was a feature that was missing and not only did they say they would fix it, but it would be in the next build, within a few weeks.

As a professor, I got the pro version for free, often, from other companies, that comes with substandard support. This is not the case with DBVisualizer. I am 100% satisifed with the choice I made and highly recommend this product.

  ### 12. The gold standard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Director of Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

Ease of use. I can see all the tables easily at the same time

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The search fields when looking for specific columns.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

COmplex queries that normally would require extra data cleanup in Excel.

  ### 13. Continuously evolving into robust DB tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

We have been using DbVisualizer for more than 10 years and have the opportunity to see this tool evolving and getting more robust and with greater functionalities. It looks for me that DbVis team is really analyzing UX and well responding to users requirements with consequent releases. Some of the improvements may look very simple (like 'Copy Selection as Comma List' or 'Copy Selection as IN clause', or exporting to spreadsheet, or viewing DB processes, or searching through SQL commands history) but they improve everyday work significantly.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

There were some memory leakages in early versions, or updating the tool was cumbersome, but now it's hard to find.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. One tool to connect to all our databases (20+) based on six different db engines - don't need to maintain individual apps
2. Data definition and manipulation - simplifying activities in projects and BAU in areas of apps development, data migration, ad-hoc data export

  ### 14. Powerful tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lukáš V. | Analytik programátor - externě, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

Ease of use
Huge amount of supported databases
SQL commands history
Very clear listing of multiple DB connections
Table data editing support
Support for copying data from Excel and other spredsheet SW
Huge support for unique DB features
Master password for encryption
Intellisense

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

I have nothing to dislike about this SW, it helps me daily

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writing complex SQL commands and maintaining functions and procedures of different DBs.
Sometimes I need to recover some early used SQL commands, so I really appreciate history function.
Sometimes I use data export functionality over executed command.

  ### 15. One of the best all round DB tools out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

The one DB tool that does it all.
Very easy to setup a database connection.
Awesome that one can just export the connections and other info for use on a reinstall etc.
Greate at exporting DDL and data.
Use it every single day.
Great that it starts supporting mongo db.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

It can be a little heavy on memory usage. Not the best at retrieving massive datasets. This is really nit picking....
Seen some issues on linux when resizing on a 2nd monitor.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The general easy at which you can maintain create query data on practically any database.
I love the graphic query tool. for quick multi join on tables it the best.
Helps in dev, uat, prod databases and one can easily identiy the right DB. Helps to NOT make mistakes.

  ### 16. Solid workhorse for DB tasks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

DbVisualizer makes managing multiple databases a breeze. I use it almost daily for different tasks, from ALTERs to analytics.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The Java UI feels a bit clunky compared with native software. With the latest version DBVis sometimes freezes in the middle of writing a query because it's "Caching tables...". I use VSCode with Github Copilot for other coding tasks and the lack of AI integration in DBVis makes it seem a bit antiquated.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DbVisualizer is helping me to be more productive when working with databases.

  ### 17. Very convinient and many features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

Connectivity to many databases, filtering options, SQL formatting.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

DBVIS does not recognize WSL directories for opening and storing sql files.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comparing data from different databases is easy. Multiple connections at the same time allows to run statements in parallel. Both features save lots of time.

  ### 18. A great Database-Viewer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fynn H. | VT Student of Computer Science, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

I love the simple way of interacting with the data. I find DBVis the best program to directly add/remove/alter Data in Databases. This is very handy in early development etc.
Furthermore, I love thet it integrates with mostly all Database types.
I use it all the time when it comes to working with DB!

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

Sometimes the UI is a bit unintuitive. But with some time you know where to click

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes building complicated relationships between tables, DBVis is the best help ever!
Also when creating tables it is very handy!

**Official Response from Meryem O:**

> Hi Fynn,

Thank you so much for your review.

We're glad to hear that you find DbVisualizer simple and handy for working with databases. We appreciate your feedback about the UI. We’re always looking for ways to enhance our software. I’ll forward your feedback to our development team.

  ### 19. Best DB software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2020

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

Dark theme, supports many database types, i find it easy to create queries and run sql reports. It supports ssl tunnels so i dont have to allow outside sql connections. I use it daily.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

the filtering of tables / finding columns is sometimes difficult and i have to pull out the manual.

**Recommendations to others considering DbVisualizer:**

Support is nice, the price for the software is worth the cost - priced fair, dark theme, i suggest browsing the instructions / documentation to learn more about its features because some can be hidden.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for MSSQL, MySQL, Pg and sometime sqlite. Its great to have the same tool for all those different database engines. I really like that i can ssh tunnel into my servers and then connect to the database. Its cross-platform support is very nice, my co worker uses windows and i use linux so being able to use the same software helps us.

  ### 20. My favorite DB tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

I love the ability to connect to all of our differnet DBMS via one similar GUI.
Very much customizeable in any terms.
If it is an iSeries DB, MS SQL or MariaDB doesnt matter so much since I use it.
Sorting scripts in folders and bookmarks is the next plus for me.
I even like the customizable export functions very much.
Woul very much miss it in my daily work.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

not any I coud think of
maybe that it's commercial

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing DB connections and scripts

  ### 21. Great GUI, support for most databases, excellent tech support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ron K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

It has a friendly user interface, supports most mainstream databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, MySQL, SQLite, etc.), and is supported technically by a fantastic team!

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The Pro version, which is needed for advanced database work, is not free (though the cost is reasonable). The software, although solid, has occasional hiccups (e.g., freezing up).

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Browsing databases and submitting queries in support of developing research prototypes.

  ### 22. Excellent and Flexible product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Norm D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

I'm a Linux user and the fact I can utilize DBvisualizer to connect to a variety of systems makes my job easier. I'm in a unique development/consulting type roll with my own company and I would on a vast array of different systems.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

I haven't figured out how to configure the show timeout for connections.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My last project involved connecting an odd MS Access database to a sql server and DBVisualizer not only supported my work, but made it easy.

  ### 23. Wonderfully made Program to interact with databases

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastian D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

It is very easy to use, very fast and reliable. In my years as DB administrator I have not found a more elegant tool. In our company we use it almost daily and although I let my employees choose their toolset themselves they usually also stick to DBVisualizer as switching to it is very easy.
In the years of usage of DBVisualizer I only had two contacts with the customer support and in all these cases the requests were handled with quickly and professionally.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

Although it is totally useable in the free version, the paid license adds so much functionality that afterwards you feel very limited using the free version again.
There are some user exerience pitfalls that could be improved like modal dialogs in some situations that do not make sense in my eyes.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GUI for interacting with the Database, editing rows, creating reports, creating overviews of the schema.

  ### 24. I love using DbVisualizer user interface and ease of connection to many Database server types.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ochuko O. | Technical Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

I love the many drivers that connects to different database server types easily. This gives me the confidence as a writer and database admin to work with any database and combine them to solve my problems.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

I think more specific features of these partner database servers should be added for each connection. That way you can use most of their services from DbVisualizer

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DbVisualizer solves my problem of using CLI tools or xomplex user interface when working with new databases. I can aslo easily visualize or analyze queries using charts or optimize using the monitor

  ### 25. DBVisualizer is a critical tool I use on a daily basis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

The layout and navigation of the tool is so intuitive. It makes interacting with our databases easy. I have tried several different database management tools and DBVisualizer is by far my favorite. It also has all of the tools I need in one place. I use it every day as part of my job. If you interact with databases regularly I would highly recommend DBVisualizer

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The licesning process is my only complaint with DBVisualizer. A more intuitive, online licensing platform would be very helpful. There is an option for an enterprise license but having a simple online dashboard to manage licenses would make the process of working with DBVisualizer in a team environment much easier.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use DBVisualizer to manage multiple database servers in multiple enviroments, from production to development. We use it to build and run queries, update data, and troubleshoot system problems. Being able to have one tool to handle all database interactions for our whole dev and support team is extremely beneficial.

  ### 29. Excellent Database Client with great bulk export features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Serge M. | Senior Data Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

* bulk operations at the DB schema level - export all tables to a single CSV
* quick search field in result is good
* filters on artefacts
* quick SQL generator tools for a table

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

* SQL editor autocomplete could have more features. I use an IDE to write complex scripts.
* A code formatter would be nice

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analysizing, creating and management RDBMS databases

  ### 30. One of the best universal SQL clients

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Al B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

DbViz covers most of the modern databases. It's a very configurable and powerable tool. It keeps the editing history. Customer support is responsive.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The history search is lacking. There is no option to choose NO time zone for results, which make it very inconvenient in some cases. It's definitely not intuitive and easy to use. The favorites is very lacking.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use DbViz for both Operational databases and the Data Warehouse. It's my main development SQL tool.

  ### 31. DbVisualizer became our IDE of choice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler S. | VP of Advanced Analytics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

It's easy to set up a connection and has good exporting functionality. I like how you have multiple tabs and can run multiple queries simultaneously.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

To unlock the true power you have to purchase the premium version (which is fine and most likely by design).

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its nice to be able to export data without copying and pasting to Excel, where returns within the strings can cause issues.

**Official Response from Sandra B:**

> Thank you for your review of DbVisualizer, we are happy to hear that our software has become your IDE of choice.

  ### 32. The swiss army knife of database management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

I have been using DBVisualizer for years to interact with a variety of database systems. The ability to rapidly setup connections to multiple database vendors is invalvuable in complex data management environments. You can rapidly setup a conenction across your development environments and define clear indicatiors of your prodcution enviroments to provide that extra layer of assurance on late night troubleshooting calls.

I ahven't found a popular database platform yet that I couldn't query, manage and maintian utilizing DBVisualizer. As a Java based solution is highly portable across systems and operates consistently.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

There are no real downsides to using DBVisualizer. You will need a JRE or use the bundled environment. Liek many solutiosn today, it is subscription-based, but agian this is the common model across vendors.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product helps me support mission critical environment across multiple vendors solutions.

  ### 33. Extremely helpful in a multi-platform database environment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

I can easily run queries and relationship lookups in Oracle and MSSQL

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

Fine tuned DB objects (Functions, triggers, Stored Procedures) are to be desired. I have to use native software like SQL Developer to create/modify Oracle objects. We use a very old version of Oracle (10g) so its likely compatibility with the i9 driver.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1 app to access different db platforms, its a time saver and the graphing functions/ Intelisense features are miles better than the native alternatives.

  ### 34. Very good overall

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

I love how easy it is to connect to multiple databases and manage in one place. Easy to view data inmultiple tabs by multiple ways. Favorite feature: Ability to format JSON data (pretty print) in a cell.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

I wish it had a way to view raw parquet files (a parquet viewer) that can also vie the meta data (e.g. by using PyArrow)

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Viewing data from multiple types of databases in an organized way.

  ### 35. Best Program of the Decade

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

The functionality is second to none, dark mode is on point and having the ability to search within result sets saves time and resources. When I think about which tool to use, DvVisualizer is a must. The price point is reasonable, and licensing is excellent. Another feature I enjoy is when you close the program; it keeps it in memory so you don't lose your spot if you accidentally close it or the computer restarts unexpectedly. I always recommend this.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

When I double-click on tabs, Databases, Favorites, or Scripts, it moves it to the left side and collapses the panel. But I always have to double-click again if I need to put it in view or collapse it. Can you update that so I only click once to view the collapsed panel, and after I click away, it auto-collapses to the vertical position on the left side? -- I would also like improved options for auto-formatting poorly written SQL, maybe some A.I. extension that could help make SQL readable and to best practices; I don't mean have it write SQL for you because we have proprietary sources but a more improved SQL Formatter.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It just works! I can have one tool with multiple database sources, and it does a great job of working seamlessly between them.

**Official Response from Meryem O:**

> Thanks for the suggestion! We're always looking for ways to enhance our software. Could you kindly submit a Feature Request for our Development Team, so they can connect with you directly to understand your ideas even better? Your contribution is much appreciated!

  ### 36. it's just a very clear and fast software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dawid Z. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

it's just a very clear and fast software, easy to work with, very easy to learn

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The Export Function is quite bad, in the Standard Setting in Europe you will always create Garbage ( "." and "," interchanged) so for every single Export you need to make some Settings and you can't save them. I have done this now many Thausend Times in 9 Years of working with DB Vis. I wish to have the Option to save my Settings and a 1-Click Solution for an Export. (as i am always using the same Settings) In very many Cases the Export is too big and i can't export it, then i have to find a Solution how to split my data into several Parts.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a big E-Commerce Company and we are using Tableau to create Reports with all Kind of Data. In DB Vis we are writing and testing our Queries and then we insert the finished Query into Tableau and make a Report of it. In DB Vis you can see if the Query runs and you get some Support what could be wrong. In Tableau you only get a message that the Query is wrong, but not what could be wrong.

**Official Response from Meryem O:**

> We're sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience with our software. There is an option to save current settings as default in the Export Table dialog, which, if I understand you correctly, could solve your problem. Please see our User Guide for more details:

https://confluence.dbvis.com/display/UG/Exporting+a+Table#ExportingaTable-SavingAndLoadingSettings

We always aim to improve, and your feedback is essential. If you still have issues, please reach out to our support team via the in-app help menu or at support@dbvis.com, so they can better understand how you think the software can be improved.

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

I use the tool fairly regularly, it's simple to use, works with pretty much any DB that springs to mind and it's quick.

It is easy and fun to use, fast, and with excellent user experience.
When I have an issue, your support is very responsive.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

missing is a quick search option for all objects, it should allow me to quickly search (online) for a table name or a view

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it helps me query the database, create new objects with wizards (like tables, views etc)

  ### 44. I have used DbVisualizer for the last five years on multiple ERPs and I love its functionality.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raymond J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

What I like best is the easy way to explore data and see the links between data sets. I have used it against sql server, Oracle, Postgresql.
I believe it is more friendly and easier to use than MSSQL.

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

I wish it would show the row numbers when it finds errors.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I write code for a number of ERPs and DbVisualizer works with all of them. I really love the drop down list of available columns when type the table name or alias.

**Official Response from Meryem O:**

> Hi Raymond,

Thank you for your review.

Regarding your locating SQL Errors request, errors in SQL scripts are highlighted in the editor, there are error markers on the right side of the editor allowing you to navigate to specific errors, and also, the execution log contains information about executed statements and any errors that occurred - including clickable links to the statement that caused the error. Most (but not all) databases support this. You can get more information here: https://confluence.dbvis.com/display/UG/Locating+SQL+Errors

If the above doesn't help, please contact support, and we’ll look into it in more detail.

  ### 45. My DB Client of choice!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karl N. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about DbVisualizer?**

DbVisualizer is the easiest, most straightforward database development and troubleshooting tool I have used in my 30+ years as a developer. I have been using the Pro edition for almost five years now. Some of the features I find MOST useful are:
1) View complete DDL including all constraints,
2) Debug Window!,
3) Drill down into and view blob field contents,
4) Format SQL,
5) Stored proc editor,
6) Editing in the SQL Commander

**What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?**

The Find command is very wonky and hard to use in the SQL Commander Window. I would suggest reworking to use a CTRL-F that displays a popup "Find..." window with "Next", "Previous", and "All" buttons (and key equivalents like SHIFT-N, SHIFT-P, SHIFT-A.

**What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use DBVisualizer for SQL Queries, stored procedures, and DDL as a software architect and developer. Additionally, in a support role, I use DBVisualizer to troubleshoot production issues, validate automated reports, and provide various ad-hoc data extracts for help desk and management requests. Finally, DbVisualizer provides a single quick and nimble tool that I can use across MySQL, SQLServer, and Postgres databases.

**Official Response from Meryem O:**

> Hi Karl,

Thanks for your feedback.

Luckily, the Find function has been completely redesigned in the upcoming version of DbVisualizer. I hope you will find it easier to use!
