What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I really appreciate the AI-Powered Redaction in Datasite Diligence. It automatically identifies, conceals, and manages sensitive data, which saves me hundreds of hours of painstaking manual legal review. The actionable engagement analytics are another standout feature, as they help us understand buyer intent by showing who views which documents and for how long. This offers our deal teams a tactical advantage in anticipating objections. Additionally, the initial setup was quite fast and easy to access, making the software a breeze to get started with. "Organized Data Room with Powerful Search and Activity Tracking"
4/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I was responsible for uploading documents (2,000 or more) into the data room for our acquisition deal last year. The experience of uploading documents allowed me to learn how Datasite works.

One thing that surprised me was how well organized the data room was (i.e., there were folders for employment agreements, customer contracts, leases, IP assignments, etc.). You drag and drop the documents into the respective folders, and the folder structure remains intact. That means no more losing files.

What I appreciated later was the ability to track activity in the data room. For example, our legal team needed to prove that a specific buyer viewed a specific document before an agreement was executed (i.e., regarding a dispute about a clause). The buyer said they did not see the clause. I logged into Datasite, generated a report, and found the buyer's IP address, date, and time, as well as the length of time they spent reviewing the document. That was about a 5-minute resolution.

I also want to point out that search capability was excellent. You can search the contents of documents, not just the file names. When you need to find "all instances of 'warranty'" among thousands of PDF documents, the search function saved us hours upon hours of work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

It's not perfect. I can tell what:

First: uploading large files is slow. We had some contracts scanned as massive PDFs hundreds of pages each. Uploading them felt like watching paint dry. Sometimes the upload would just fail and I'd have to restart. Someone on our team ended up splitting files into smaller chunks just to get them up faster .

Second: permissions can get tangled. We had different buyer teams who needed access to different folders. One group could see everything. Another could only see finance docs. Setting that up required clicking through multiple screens and double-checking everything. If you made a mistake, someone might see something they shouldn't. Our admin spent two full days just on permissions .

Third: the login process is clunky. Every time I accessed the data room, I had to go through two-factor authentication. I know that's a security thing, and I get why it's there. But when you're in a hurry and just need to grab one file, waiting for a text code then typing it in gets old fast .

Fourth: the Q&A module felt like an afterthought. During due diligence, buyers had questions about documents. The Q&A tool was supposed to track those. But questions sometimes got buried, and you couldn't hide answered ones without creating weird workarounds. Our team ended up using a separate spreadsheet anyway Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hi, Nijat!

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. Hearing accounts of the tangible wins you and your team had during your acquisition process is extremely gratifying. "Boring and reliable" in the middle of a high-stakes deal? We'll take that as a compliment!

We also appreciate your specific feedback on challenges you faced in the platform, and have passed these points directly to our Product team. We don't create or innovate in an echo chamber, and hearing what's not working is just as important as the five-star reviews.

If you would be open to sharing more about your experience, we'd love to hear from you! Feel free to reach out to sydney.ashmore@datasite.com to schedule a time.

Thank you for your partnership with Datasite!

"Easy-to-Use UI with Strong AI Quality Monitoring, but don't use AI too much"
4/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

UI is easy to use- could be easier to do batch downloads, Integrations as I haven't used them but integrating to a local folder to directly update the downloads without having to do them again will be quite beneficial, AI monitoring of quality works well, should catch up to context. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Sometime the portal was slow. Pricing I have no clue as I've used it more from the documents uploaded by clients. Lately have been seeing Datasite fewer times vs. other competitors like Box Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Dashboard, Fair Value, and Helpful Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

User friendly, have a quick response when I ask to reset password, I like the project dashboard and how you can assign specific permission to the shared documents.

the interface looks user friendly, like outlook, the subscription has fair value, it can integrate different types of documents, the support through tutorials or guidance is easy, can also integrating AI options in most of the steps through suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

For me, it doesn't automatically open when i get email notification of adding/changing documents, have to add password, uploading large files or heavy document indexes causes noticeable system slowdowns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sydney Ashmore of Datasite Diligence

"Datasite Diligence Review"

What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

Buyers are very familiar with the product making it easy to use. Clients tend to have the ability to ramp quickly regarding the platform. Our reps are extremely helpful when we have questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Some clients view it as very expensive, with M&A timelines getting longer, the six month term is not always enough. Also, the new feature of not being able to open documents in a separate tab without multiple clicks is frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure, Easy-to-Use Due Diligence with Powerful Document Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

What I like best about Datasite Diligence is its strong combination of security, ease of use, and powerful document management features. The platform makes it simple to organize, share, and track sensitive information during due diligence processes. I also appreciate the detailed activity tracking and permission controls, which help ensure transparency and data confidentiality while working with multiple stakeholders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

One downside of Datasite Diligence is that the platform can feel a bit complex for new users, especially at the beginning. Additionally, some features may take time to fully understand, and performance can occasionally be slow when handling large volumes of documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sydney Ashmore of Datasite Diligence

Hi, Kerols!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Datasite Diligence. It's great to hear the platform has made it easier for you to collaborate across multiple stakeholders with confidence, while saving time and cutting down on manual effort. Centralizing sensitive documents, giving you full visibility into user activity, and supporting secure, well-organized due diligence is exactly what we aim to deliver, so it means a lot to know that's been your experience.

We also want to thank you for being candid about where the platform could be smoother. The points you raised around the initial ramp-up for new users, the time it takes to get comfortable with certain features, and slower performance when working with very large document sets are all things we want to keep improving on. We'll make sure your comments reach our product team, as this kind of specific, real-world feedback is incredibly helpful in shaping where we focus next.

In the meantime, if anything comes up or you'd like a hand getting more out of the platform, our Datasite Assist team is available 24/7/365. Thanks again for partnering with Datasite.

"Robust Security and Workflow Optimization for Due Diligence"
4/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

What I appreciate most about Datasite Diligence is its enterprise-grade data security paired with structured document organization, which fits our heavily regulated investment management work perfectly. The role-based access control is outstanding. I can split confidential fund documents into different groups, restrict download rights, and only open specific files to individual team members. This keeps sensitive asset data protected and helps our firm stay compliant with financial industry privacy requirements. I also value its smart document processing features. When I upload dozens of prospectuses, performance reports and risk audit files for new investment products, the system automatically sorts materials and marks critical clauses and data anomalies. This drastically cuts down the time I spend manually organizing paperwork. I can quickly pull verified due diligence results and pair them with investor feedback collected from Pointerpro to analyze market sentiment. The complete activity audit trail is another major highlight. Every view, download, and edit is permanently logged. When I compile research records for internal reviews, I can easily track the whole due diligence progress without reconstructing files manually. It makes our market research fully traceable. Finally, the unified cloud workspace keeps our remote investment team working from the same set of updated files. There are no conflicting document versions floating around over email. Everything stays centralized inside the data room. For a small wealth management team without extra compliance staff, this combination of tight security, automated sorting and full activity tracking makes Datasite Diligence far more reliable than ordinary cloud storage. It lets me focus more on analyzing investor experience and market trends instead of managing messy confidential files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

The native analytics module remains far too limited to support my market research workflow. While the system can automatically highlight high-risk clauses and compliance red flags within legal text, it lacks the capability to pull out structured numerical data. Key figures such as annualized returns, volatility ratios, expense rates, and drawdown metrics cannot be extracted in bulk. There is no built-in function to export these numerical results into editable CSV or Excel spreadsheets. I end up manually transcribing every data point line by line. This constant manual data entry creates repetitive, low-value work, eats up hours each week, and also raises the chance of typos and data errors that can skew our product optimization analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure Yet Challenging for Bulk Document Processing"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I appreciate most about Datasite Diligence the combination of granular access permissions and the centralized Q&A module tailored strictly for confidential consulting and M&A diligence work. The role-based permission settings are incredibly robust, allowing me to split document access precisely for different parties, ensuring client data is fully secure throughout every consulting engagement. The dedicated Q&A workflow tied directly to each document impresses me, as it keeps project communication organized without extra manual note-taking. The automated folder structure for due diligence saves me countless hours, allowing me to focus more time on analyzing business performance and building client roadmaps instead of sorting paperwork. For our small consulting team without dedicated IT security staff, these built-in transaction-focused features make Datasite Diligence far more reliable than generic document storage tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

The bulk document uploading tool has consistent stability issues when processing large mixed batches of project materials. Some finished files also fail to load and display correctly inside the virtual data room after saving. I have to break the whole document set into tiny subgroups, carry out repeated uploads, and double-check every item one by one to avoid missing critical diligence materials. On top of that, the platform lacks robust bulk editing features for file management. I cannot rename batches of documents or revise folder labels in bulk. I have to correct file names, sort tags, and organize metadata individually. First, the built-in redaction tool lacks batch processing capabilities. I need to black out confidential figures, client contact information, and internal pricing terms. Right now I can only redact content page by page on individual files. I cannot apply the same redaction rules across an entire folder of documents. Second, the Q&A tracking system cannot sync task statuses to our project management tools. Every open diligence question has to be manually copied over to our task list. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Secure Platform for Managing Complex Data Transactions"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

The intuitive interface and advanced search capabilities. It makes managing high volumes of sensitive documents during audits much faster and more organized Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

While the platform is powerful, there are a few areas that could be improved. Firstly, the pricing structure is quite premium, which might be a barrier for smaller-scale operations or shorter projects that don't require the full suite of features. Secondly, although the user interface is generally clean, the learning curve for the more advanced administrative tools can be a bit steep for new users who aren't tech-savvy, requiring more time for onboarding than expected.

I also noticed that when dealing with massive datasets, the bulk upload feature can occasionally experience latency issues, which slows down the workflow during tight deadlines. Additionally, the mobile experience, while functional, doesn't feel as robust or fluid as the desktop version, making it slightly difficult to review urgent documents on the go. Finally, the notification system can sometimes be overwhelming; having more granular control over which specific alerts we receive would definitely enhance the overall user experience Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sydney Ashmore of Datasite Diligence

Hi, Ameer!

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review of Datasite Diligence. We're glad the platform has helped your team close deals faster, achieve greater transparency, and maintain the highest standards of data integrity and compliance during audits. Knowing it has eliminated the risks of manual document handling and replaced fragmented email chains with a single source of truth is exactly the outcome we work to deliver for our clients.

We also appreciate you sharing areas where we can improve. Your feedback on the learning curve for advanced administrative tools, bulk upload performance with large datasets, the mobile experience, and notification granularity is genuinely valuable, and we'll be passing these suggestions along to our product team for consideration. Input like yours directly informs how we prioritize enhancements, and we're grateful you took the time to be so specific.

If you'd like support in the meantime, our Datasite Assist team is available 24/7/365 and can help with onboarding resources or any other questions. Thank you again for partnering with Datasite.
