I like that you can sort the profiles by date of last fill, drug name, Dr. name, and date of last fill. The different features of being able to access information from different screens makes switching between tasks mostly seamless. **What do you dislike about Datascan Pharmacy Software?** The thing i like least about WinPharm is that if you have many things queued from one profile if you have one that is on cash and one that is billed to insurance it just stops the submitting process after the one that is not billed to insurance. I do mostly long term care and those patients take some over the counter items that are unable to be billed to the primary insurance and it just stops submitting after the cash ones come up in the queue. I also do not like that if you need multiple labels of the same rx number that you cannot do that if you have to resubmit or process from the profile directly. **What problems is Datascan Pharmacy Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do not know what issues WinPharm is currently trying to correct. ### 2. My team likes everything about WinPharm. The software is user friendly, easy to learn and functions very efficiently! Our pharmacy used the same software program for 12 years before making the switch to Datascan; this was no easy decision. It's a complex undertaking and all of us in the pharmacy worried as we prepared for the transition. Honestly....we should have done it 10 years ealier. The Datascan team is unbelievable; they are immediately responsive to our needs and made the transition for us much easier than we anticipated. No more system lags, no more system crashes, no more unreturned service requests.....I have nothing but good things to say about the team and their software program. **What do you dislike about Datascan Pharmacy Software?** There is nothing specifically that I dislike about the program. There are things our old software system could do that WinPharm doesn't, but each month every pharmacy can request additions / changes to the software that we want or need. Who does this? DATASCAN does this. *** And I remind myself constantly...just because I did it one way on an old system doesn't mean it's the best way. We are learning the ins-and outs of the system daily and often find better ways of doing things with the new system. Change can be very good. **What problems is Datascan Pharmacy Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** After multiple "sell-outs" to bigger and bigger companies, our previous software system became increasingly riddled with bugs and the service team for that program became non-existant. With DATASCAN, if any of us have a question ( during or after hours ), we get an IMMEDIATE response. This is a game-changer for us. Shortly before making the final decision to transition to DATASCAN / WinPharm, our pharmacy waited 4 months for a call back on a "critical" ticket when a primary printer stopped communicating with the software program. Four months. Today, Logan or Mike or Sarah or Ralph or any other of the many knowledgable team members would immediately connect into our system and fix the issue within minutes. Of the first 10, about half of them sent me to some form of a call center. I through those companies into the ‘NO pile,’ and scheduled interviews/walk-throughs with the remaining 5 companies. I vetted the remaining 5 companies based on the following criteria: 1. How much they felt like a human company. I left PDX because they felt more and more like a faceless corporation with each successive year. 2. How ‘malleable’ their POS was. Malleable as in both their willingness to tweak their system, and how much their system could be tailored to fit my particular pharmacy’s needs. 3. How tech savvy the system was. 4. How positive were the reviews from other pharmacies. 1. HUMAN TOUCH: I can say with almost near certainty, you won’t find a more human company. I felt an immediate bond with their VP, Sarah Callioras, after she did personally conducted my initial walk through, and the subsequent follow ups prior to me signing. She was willing to answer every question, no matter how tedious. She was and is today (4 months in) always accessible, and never pushy or ‘salesy.’ DataScan also sent out 2 techs to guide us through our first week of conversation. Something almost no other company offers. 2. MALLEABILITY: DataScan is constantly changing and evolving. They put out new features monthly, and have made more changes in a few months than by previous POS did in a decade. The workflow customization for each pharmacy is also beyond compare. If you want to simplify the process of filling Rx’s, and not scan everything 20 times, they are able to change the workflow to meet your needs. If you want all the double checks, and prefer the scans at every step…they have a workflow perfect for you as well. 3. TECH SAVVY: We save hours utilizing their unique delivery system process. Audits, which are now part of my daily life, have never been easier. This system was very obviously built by, or in conjunction with, a pharmacist. All the strange bells and whistles you can imagine are offered, and located exactly where intuition guides you. I can’t say enough about how easy it was for my staff and I to learn the system. 4. REVIEWS: Prior to being a customer, I was blown away by all the positive DataScan reviews online. Looking back, I find it easy to understand why so many pharmacies were compelled to share the love. I am now proud to count myself among them! **What do you dislike about Datascan Pharmacy Software?** I wish they were available on MAC!
