"Seamless, Faultless Reporting That Makes Work Easier"
5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

I like the seamless use in practice, I was not heavily involved in the integration of the software however I am a heavy user of the software, and it is seamless and faultless, it takes care of everything for you, it's integrated with some of our outdated software and has sped up reporting by 4-5 Days, the software is easy to use and the UI is easy to understand,, and there are resources available to allow for further guidance, I was not involved in the pricing discussion however whatever was paid it has made my work life easier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

data rails requires some set up to get it working, and if it is not set up correctly then it will not work for you, however when set up it works seamlessly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Datarails -- Now an AI-Ready FinanceOS, Still On the Rails of Your FP&A"
5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

FinanceOS is the real headline. Datarails connected 400+ data sources and built real-time consolidation directly into the platform. FX adjustments, eliminations, allocations, all handled automatically. The part I keep coming back to is model-locking: you build your financial model once, lock it, and the data refreshes underneath it each period without breaking anything. That alone has saved hours.

The AI has also gotten genuinely useful. The new Agents (Strategy, Reporting) don't just answer questions. They generate actual financial outputs on top of your validated data. FP&A Genius now handles variance analysis and budget vs. actual comparisons in plain English, inside Excel. Storyboards were already great. They're faster now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

Onboarding is still the hardest part. Concepts like File Boxes vs. Data Mapping and the role/permissions setup take time to click, especially when handing things off between finance and non-finance folks. Bigger models can slow things down too. None of it is a dealbreaker. Once you're past the ramp, the platform runs well. But expect to invest real time upfront. "Intuitive, High-Performing Tool with Easy NetSuite Integration and Great Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

Datarails is intuitive to map and easy to use, both in the portal and within Excel. Our NetSuite integration was also fairly simple to set up and map, and it pulls data from NetSuite nightly, so the information in Datarails stays up to date. The dashboards are easy to build and share, which has made it simple to distribute insights to our leadership team. The Datarails support team has consistently been helpful and easy to reach when we need them. Overall, the software’s performance has been great. Pricing was straightforward, and with the ability to share dashboards across the organization, the ROI is there. I haven’t used the AI/Intelligence functionality much yet, but I’m excited to explore it more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

Currently, we have no issues with Datarails. It's been great and easy to use. The initial set up and mapping of our reports was a big lift but the implementation team was very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Datarails Streamlines Financial Reporting with Powerful Dashboards and Excel Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

We’ve had a great experience using Datarails for financial reporting and dashboard visibility. The platform has helped streamline reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis while making data much easier to present to leadership and school stakeholders.

One of the biggest benefits has been the ability to centralize financial information into user-friendly dashboards that improve visibility into cash flow, budget variances, and overall financial performance. The Excel integration is especially valuable because it allows our team to continue working within familiar spreadsheets while gaining the benefits of automation and live reporting.

Datarails has also improved efficiency with board reporting and financial presentations by reducing manual preparation time and providing cleaner, more professional reporting outputs.

Overall, it has been a very useful tool for improving financial transparency, organization, and decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

Absolutely nothing! Honestly, we have not experienced any major challenges with Datarails. The platform has been very helpful for financial reporting, dashboard visibility, and improving overall efficiency for our team. The integration with Excel and the ability to customize reporting has made the process smooth and user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Financial Reviews with Seamless Integration and Incredible Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

Datarails has been extremely helpful in providing a platform for us to review financial information more efficiently. The support staff has been incredible with impressive response and being helpful as we continue to implement the system more widely across our organization. The performance of the system has been very reliable and the integration between DataRails and our accounting system has been very seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

I would like to see more AI features being incorporated into the product more reliably. There has been some attempts via the Story Board feature but if AI can be reliably integrated into the system for projections and certain process heavy tasks like budgeting it would take the product to a whole new level. "Quicker Close, Customizable Dashboards with Outstanding Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

Seamless integration of all data files through user created mapping and functions. Clear and easy target v actual visuals and viewer friendly with layers of data visible for the rest of the organisation. Totally customisable - use it however you want!

We have not yet integrated any of our systems due to being in a niche industry however manual upload works fine for what we need to prepare the management accounts, branch reporting/apportionment and tracking budgets v actuals for over 20 depots.

Pricing is steep with being a marginal business for the add on products and as yet we have not tried any of these. They do have a good offering however and would consider using at a lower price. The core function and dashboarding has helped us gain visibility of our transport and logistics data and has helped us gain efficiency helping our productivity metrics. Also helped saved time on our month end processes as it is now set up to create our depot P&L reporting and apportionment for us (saves at least a day a month).

Support is one of the best I've ever used. Gets back to you incredibly quickly and support assistants are very knowledgeable.

AI Panda's need a lot of configuration and we can;t get them to work properly for our data, storyboard commentary is also a bit weak and sometimes incorrect so we don't use these. However we are due to have a a demo of the new AI Connector which we've been assured is a strong performer.

System reliability across the team is good, although a bit laggy/slow at times. We have a lot of data in the system and a lot of mappers/complex data tables feeding one another and this can sometimes take a long time to reconfigure the data if an update is made to the mappers. Speed could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

The basic product doesn't seem to know our data as well as it claims it will for auto commentary features such as storyboards, AI Panda's. We don't use these. Dashboards don't tend to work well with embedded historical data, I will need to do a lot of work to reconfigure all of my formulas to include dates so that they pull through correctly. Finding your way around your data as it grows can be a bit confusing...however, we have just been notified of Datarails University training course and after we complete this training this may help us unlock some hidden potential/capability that we don't know the system has and help us remedy some of the issues we face. "Strong Consolidation Capabilities"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

We’re still in the very early stages of using the Datarails platform, but the biggest benefit so far has been its ability to consolidate financial data across our many lines of business. It brings information from multiple sets of books into one place, which makes it much easier for us to produce a truly consolidated financial portfolio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

There’s quite a bit to learn before you can truly take full advantage of all its capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Excel-Friendly Automation with Exceptionally Patient Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

Datarails is easy to use, especially if you’re already familiar with Excel. It has helped me automate our P&Ls using our newly developed data warehouse, and it’s also helped us spot issues in the warehouse along the way, which was an added perk. Because portions of our data warehouse have been delayed, our Datarails implementation has been delayed as well. We were worried we might run out of time, but Datarails has continued to support us even though we’ve gone beyond the originally expected timeline. I’m very grateful for their patience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

I was hoping to incorporate employer-paid federal, state, and local income tax tables into our employee cost budgeting, since all of our corporate employees work remotely across different states. However, Datarails didn’t have tax tables available, and neither did our payroll vendor. We could have done our own research and built the tax tables ourselves, but the time and effort required to keep them updated didn’t feel justifiable. I understand that most of Datarails’ clients either don’t budget at this level of detail or they provide their own tax tables, but I was really hoping Datarails would have something we could use. "Highly Customizable Excel Integration with an Intuitive UI and Outstanding Onboarding"
5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

The high level of customizability and direct integration with Excel are by far the product's highest-ROI features. The ability to integrate Datarails into existing spreadsheets is amazing and the formulae perform perfectly.

The online platform has a really intuitive UI that is reminiscent of Excel and, so, easy to learn. The user experience is excellent as Datarails offers a bunch of additional reporting features and customization options above and beyond what Excel can do. Additionally, there's a built-in AI to help automate commentary onn reporting.

The onboarding process is easy as you are fullly supported by their onboarding team. They help and suppot you every step of the process and their performance is exemplary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

Nothing so far. Everything works exactly as good or even better than I'd hoped. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Automated Reporting in Minutes with Exceptionally Helpful Datarails Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Datarails?

I like how Datarails can automate the data import process and report generation. With Datarails I can set up the reports and data import once and generate our monthly reports in minutes. They also have great representatives who will help you get things set up and teach you how to use Datarails. I have been mostly working with Kyle and Jason and they have been exceptionally helpful in making sure our data is importing correctly and making sure I know how to use Datarails like a pro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

We had some issues getting our data to import correctly into Datarails. We are a very security conscious company and that can make our data hard to access even by third parties we want to have access to our data. Jason at Datarails was very great at working with our IT team to find a way to connect to our data, despite the difficulties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
