Be aware if you consider purchasing the annual plan. Technically, you have to mark your renewal date next year on your calendar yourself because your plan will automatically get renewed and charged unnoticed. (No reminder or consent) When you receive a bill? it's too late: there is no way for you to get a refund because it's their "new policy" even if you contact them the day of the billing.

They should either send their customers a consent/notification before the auto renew at least once, or let the user cancel and get a refund, especially when they didn't use the plan yet.

Customer service is horrible. Slow response, non-technical & unprofessional.

We experienced a technical issue on Dacast's player (video not looping). We even created a demo page for their team to investigate.

Three weeks later, still no solution to the issue & no timeframe for when they will resolve the issue. I asked for an update, and customer service told me to be patient. Completely hopeless.

Customer service downloaded our video and re-uploaded a testing video to our account without notification or communication. That makes me unsure about the data security on Dacast, as their staff can access the content on our account without agreement.

Also, Dacast's UX is immature, in my option. the control portal is not user-friendly compared to competitors like Vimeo. The video player still has a play icon popped up even after setting the player to be no play button in the theme.

We have been using this service for several years now for the large Outdoor Shake table, and we have no problem with steaming. And when we needed help, the customer service was like the best. Also was able to try this into one steaming service to other social media sites. We were able to input the steams into our website and also steam them to all the mobile devices that were watching the link that we send out for the live stream. Great tech support and great streaming, with the one exception, noted on their lack of encoding. In talking to these people, you can tell they really care. That is missing in 90% of the streamers I have used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I used this service for some time and had great results. The problem I had was that they do not do encoding. That means that if you want multiple biot rates for smartphones, slow connections, and big screen TVF's, you have to send it in the original stream. This caused a lessening of the quality and also caused problems as I had difficulty getting the larger stream to them without buffering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our team liked that Dacast had a wide array of features under one roof and a pricing plan that worked for our use case.

I highly recommend that you do not use the Dacast API; the API is extremely weak compared to the competition.

The current API that is publically available uses their old platform. When using the legacy platform and API, there are multiple issues - the main one being that macOS and iOs users can not view the live stream without enabling cookies. Additionally, this API only provides limited post-event analytics with virtually no support for live analytics.

The company is aware of this and they have since upgraded their platform (mid-2020 to mid-2021); however, they have not updated the API yet leaving customers like us in the dark.

Support is hit-or-miss; we either receive amazing support (from Sales and Account Management) or our emails go unanswered unless we follow up multiple times (Technical). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A firm streaming platform where you can customize channels for events and schools. As a long term user of five years, Dacast has provided a stable platform to meet our streaming needs at a reasonable cost. There have been delays when bandwidth has been exceeded but Dacast helped us to address this by buying extra bandwidth at a reasonable cost to keep this from happening.
