It comes with small next and previous arrows to perform seamlessly back and forward on the reviewed file. Turns a code review into a threaded discussion and comment on specific source lines, files. 2) Old commits can be cleaned up with just a single click. 3) Get a quick view of the review status. When multiple reviewers review the same code at the same time then it popups a kind of notification to let the individual reviewer know about it even during normal internet connectivity. And also displays the percent(%) of the review done by individual reviewers. **What do you dislike about Crucible?** It is the best platform. So far I haven't seen any negative points when it comes to its functionality. But of course, I would suggest that it can be made more powerful by introducing AI/ML features. **What problems is Crucible solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using this platform for reviewing the code. It comes with all the required controls while reviewing the code as expected. Like we reviewer can ask the coder to modify the line/lines of the code through comments. We use this platform in integration with Jira so whenever the coder creates a crucible for the code review automatically a link/url will be generated and made available to the 'Code' subtask of that corresponding Jira ticket. So any reviewer can directly go to that crucible from Jira itself. Finally I would say it has made the developers' life so easy. ### 3. Crucible is really great tool to work. We loved the fact that all the review comments could now be seen in a system, linked to issues etc. Instead of maintaining then in notebooks. **What do you dislike about Crucible?** Over time, as Bitbucket, Github and others evolved, this tool did not remain unique anymore. You could basically do same stuff without using crucible. **Recommendations to others considering Crucible:** The code repository tools are now maturr enough to provide most of the features provided by crucible. **What problems is Crucible solving and how is that benefiting you?** Structred code reviews. It allows collaborative reviews where a code review owner can add someone in a team as the moderator allowing the other person to act as owner on his behalf if needed. It provides a nice dashboard of users who added comments on the code allowing people to track comments individually per developer. The UI is great and pretty straightforward with all the files for a code branch showing up in the left sidebar and the files content/code showing up on the right. Any additional screenshots/files can be attached as evidence to the code review. The most notable feature which separates crucible from Github pull requests is the time tracking functionality. It starts tracking time from when the code review was marked as open and also as to how much time each user has put on looking at the code review. Another feature that is better than github's pull request is that even if a large number of files is present in a code review, the left sidebar has it's own scrolling pane which makes it easier to keep the context of files with the code presented in the right pane. For github pull requests, the user has to keep on scrolling which tends to get irritating. Another great feature of crucible is that code from multiple repositories/projects can be added to one code review.. again a feature which github pull request does not provide. **What do you dislike about Crucible?** One thing I find irritating is that adding new files to the code review after the review has started resets everyone's code review progress. Ideally the behavior is correct since we want people to take look at the new changes but sometimes it gets irritating to ask people to re-review things when the changes are trivial. **What problems is Crucible solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using crucible has made code collaboration very easy. No longer do we have to get the team in a room to review code together. This allows people to prioritize their work and looking at code reviews at their own schedule. ### 7. Lot of flexibility with respect to code tags or versions, and very quick in rendering the updated Java EE contents. Design decisions become evidently clear on page/JSP work from colleagues. Easy to pin point issues that may arrive early in the code. This makes the team get on same page quickly than analyzing differently on different screens. The only thing to be mindful about is the filtering of the versions. Sometimes the selection takes a bit while to render the selected version, and the user will be under the impression that the filter is already applied and goes about ahead, which is kind of drawback. This is since Crucible we use is a browser application. **What problems is Crucible solving and how is that benefiting you?** Code review is the best use no prize for guessing. The notification tools are awful, you are either flooded with emails or don't get notified. Also how is there not Slack integration? The workflow is clunky without accept/reject functionality and only complete, but no one seems to really understand what complete really means. **Recommendations to others considering Crucible:** Look long and hard for a better solution as there must be a more modern easier to use solution than this. **What problems is Crucible solving and how is that benefiting you?** We desperately needed code review functionality and crucible is what we decided on. ### 16. If you integrate with JIRA, Bamboo, and others, you can have an end to end development experience, allowing to: * ensure all code changes need to be reviewed before releases can be made * cross-reference code reviews to issues * cross-reference code reviews to builds and deployments This allows you to quickly locate what code has been changed, the issues they address, and if they have been reviewed before being allowed to be released into the final product. **What do you dislike about Crucible?** Mostly minor annoyances such as UI is/was not consistent with other Atlassian tools, user profile does not sync with mismatching avatars. As a code review tool, it works. **Recommendations to others considering Crucible:** If you are using DVCS such as git and mercurial, you should consider using Bitbucket and pull requests instead. But if you are still using SVN, then Crucible is the tool for you. **What problems is Crucible solving and how is that benefiting you?** Running code reviews for code changes, setting up workflows to ensure certain changes (or all changes) are reviewed before changes are released. You just need to configure fisheye and crucible is good to go. You cannot comment on particular parts of a document and changes are not tracked in this tool for documents. **Recommendations to others considering Crucible:** Very good for code reviews.
