## About CRM Honeypots
CRM Honeypots is a CRM data breach detection tool that helps businesses discover when their contact database has been stolen or leaked. CRM data theft is a widespread but difficult-to-detect problem - stolen contact lists are often used for competitor outreach, spam campaigns, or resold on the black market, and most businesses only discover the breach long after the damage is done. It works by generating realistic-looking decoy contacts ("honeypots") that you plant directly inside your CRM - whether that's Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, or any other platform. Because these decoy records are indistinguishable from legitimate ones, any unauthorized party who obtains and attempts to use the stolen data will inevitably interact with them. Business value: - Provides early, concrete detection of CRM data theft before it escalates - Delivers actionable evidence, including details about who used the stolen data rather than vague indicators of compromise - Reduces the window between a breach occurring and a team becoming aware of it - Requires minimal technical setup, making it accessible without dedicated security tooling What alerts include: - Sender's email address and company name - IP address and geographic location - Full message content and timestamp Typical users: - Sales operations and revenue operations teams - IT and security staff managing CRM access - Organizations that work with third-party vendors, contractors, or external sales representatives who have access to CRM records How it works: - Decoy contacts are generated in batches and exported as a CSV file - The CSV is imported into any CRM that supports CSV upload, including Salesforce, HubSpot, and most CRM - Once in place, the honeypots require no ongoing maintenance or configuration - When a decoy contact is emailed, an automated alert is triggered immediately

## CRM Honeypots Reviews
 ### 1. Finally, something that watches your CRM while you sleep

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about CRM Honeypots?**

As a founder, your CRM is one of your most valuable assets - and also one of the most vulnerable. Every rep, contractor, or intern with export access is a potential risk. CRM Honeypots is the first tool I've found that gives me actual visibility into whether that data is leaving the building.

**What do you dislike about CRM Honeypots?**

Honestly, not much. If I had to nitpick, I'd love to see more native integrations beyond Salesforce and HubSpot - covering tools like Pipedrive or Zoho would make it useful for a wider range of teams.

**What problems is CRM Honeypots solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The core problem is simple but serious: there's no native way in most CRMs to know if your contact data has been stolen. You can restrict exports, audit logs, and set permissions but if someone determined wants to take your list, they'll find a way. And you'll never know until it's too late

 ### 2. Good way to protect our CRM when sales leave

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2026

**What do you like best about CRM Honeypots?**

Honestly super simple. We just found out that 3 sales reps and a BDR are leaving for a competitor, so we wanted to secure our CRM fast. Setup took a few minutes. You add decoy contacts and if someone exports or touches the data you get alerted right away. Very simple but exactly what we needed.

**What do you dislike about CRM Honeypots?**

Nothing really. It’s simple and does the job.

**What problems is CRM Honeypots solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Main thing was the risk of prospects and customers being taken to the competitor. With this we can detect if someone tries to use or move our contact database. Gives us a lot more peace of mind during a moment like this.

 ### 3. Super Simple Setup with Instant Alerts Like a Silent Alarm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2026

**What do you like best about CRM Honeypots?**

Super simple. Took a few minutes to set up. The fake contacts look real and if someone touches them you get an alert right away. Kinda feels like a silent alarm for your customer list.

**What do you dislike about CRM Honeypots?**

Honestly nothing so far. It just works and I don’t have to think about it.

**What problems is CRM Honeypots solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Main thing is peace of mind. If someone tries to export or misuse our contacts we’ll know immediately. It help us protect our pipeline and customer data without adding another complicated security tool.

 ### 4. Simple, Easy-to-Use Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about CRM Honeypots?**

Simple and easy to use. No need to talk to my IT department to set it up

**What do you dislike about CRM Honeypots?**

The decoy contacts don’t have phone numbers

**What problems is CRM Honeypots solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m sure now that if a salesperson leaves, I will know if they took my customers and leads with them.

 ### 5. Effective, Low-Maintenance Early Threat Detection with Realistic Decoys

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about CRM Honeypots?**

It's an effective and low-maintenance tool for early threat detection. It excels at diverting CRM attackers with realistic decoys

**What do you dislike about CRM Honeypots?**

There is nothing I dislike in this very simple and efficient solution

**What problems is CRM Honeypots solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CRM honeypot acts as bait, luring malicious insiders away to detect if they steal our CRM data
