Who is Core Impact pricing best suited for?

Core Impact's pricing is best suited for mid-market and enterprise security teams running frequent, structured penetration testing programs. G2 reviewers from telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, and IT services at the 51–1,000+ employee range report the strongest satisfaction, citing automation, exploit depth, and multi-vector coverage as key drivers. Core Impact Basic fits teams focused purely on network testing, while Core Impact Pro suits those adding phishing and pivoting to engagements. Core Impact Enterprise targets large organizations needing web app, WiFi, and mobile testing under one license. G2 reviewers consistently flag Core Impact's pricing as difficult to justify for small teams or independent consultants running infrequent assessments.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Core Impact?

Core Impact does not offer a permanent free version. A free trial is available for evaluation. Paid tiers start at $9,450/year for Core Impact Basic, covering network testing, reporting, and remediation validation. Core Impact Pro at $12,600/year adds simulated phishing campaigns and pivoting. Core Impact Enterprise, priced via custom quote, unlocks the full feature set including web application testing, WiFi/mobile testing, and add-on exploit pack integration. G2 reviewers note that the value of Core Impact's paid plans becomes clearer at higher tiers and larger engagement volumes, where consolidating multiple attack vectors into one licensed platform offsets the cost versus managing separate point solutions.

Is Core Impact considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers are divided on Core Impact's value. High-rating users across enterprise and mid-market segments cite automation, multi-vector coverage, and a regularly updated exploit library as justifying the cost, particularly for teams running frequent, structured engagements. However, cost concerns appear repeatedly and carry significant weight: multiple G2 reviewers flag the $9,450–$12,600/year pricing as prohibitive for small teams and independent consultants. One reviewer explicitly states Core Impact's pricing is worth at most $2,000–$3,000, citing unreliable agents and weak web application testing. Another compares it unfavorably to Metasploit Pro at the same price point. Consensus: strong value for mid-market and enterprise teams running recurring pentests; poor value for small or infrequent users.
