It is easy to understand and problem solve errors **What do you dislike about CoffeeScript?** There honestly isn't anything I dislike. It's just a grade beginning language. **Recommendations to others considering CoffeeScript:** Highly recommend it for ease of use and learning. **What problems is CoffeeScript solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the problem of teaching a text based language to young children. ### 2. Good but could be better **Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2019 **What do you like best about CoffeeScript?** I really liked how it would give me shorthand way to write javascript and would be pretty cool as it works well with ruby on rails however javascript has now caught up. **What do you dislike about CoffeeScript?** Javascript has now caught up and CoffeeScript has not evolved maybe if it had faster build times then I would consider using it again but as it stands to think it is slow and I find no benefits from using it. **Recommendations to others considering CoffeeScript:** Please fix and adapt to the new culture and make things better so that the end user is benefited from it **What problems is CoffeeScript solving and how is that benefiting you?** Coffee script when it started off was very good as it came bundled with ruby on rails but now that I use it more I find it to be an inconvenience to the product as javascript has caught up there is not need to use it. ### 3. It creates a sense of familiarity for developers from a python and ruby background **What do you dislike about CoffeeScript?** For traditional javascript developer, the CoffeeScript syntax is a little disorienting and the added burden of transpiling CoffeeScript code to javascript is an added burden **What problems is CoffeeScript solving and how is that benefiting you?** CoffeeScript only promotes brevity in the code and reduces the keystrokes need to perform common operation like creating lists and looping ### 4. Especially when trying to learn to write in computer language. This is really beneficial to see the simplicity of coffescript side by side with java to compare the differences and helps me grow as someone interested in writing computer programs. I also love the fact it is compatible with the system we use at work. **What do you dislike about CoffeeScript?** So far I have not had anything to dislike about coffescript. I just started to learn about the program very recently and it helps assist with the length of the program required by java and reduces the amount of code needed to be written. **Recommendations to others considering CoffeeScript:** The more you practice and use the program, the better you will become just like any other programs. Google has this awesome tutorial site where they have an editable version for you to learn from as well **What problems is CoffeeScript solving and how is that benefiting you?** I take care of directories and other organizational trackers in my office, and coffeescript has enabled me to cut down on the amount of time needed to concoct the language for my directories and help me put out shorter and efficient work. ### 5. Not as extensible as I would like, when trying to do things that would be easy in other, better languages... **Recommendations to others considering CoffeeScript:** There are better more advanced languages that I would consider first. **What problems is CoffeeScript solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allowed us to build a basic call and response bot. Additionally many of the features that coffee script provided are not actually good for writing maintainable stable code **What problems is CoffeeScript solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use coffee script in a large code base for chat features. ### 7. You can use JavaScript and CoffeeScript library interchangeably with ease! Not only that, but it is actually a bit easier than JavaScript, since it is easier to read and understand. The syntax is so simple, even a beginner can use it. **What do you dislike about CoffeeScript?** This is an all around good program.
