Codocly Reviews & Product Details

Codocly is an AI-powered developer tool that automatically generates structured, production-ready technical documentation directly from a software codebase.Core FunctionalityInstead of manually spending hours writing guides, developers can input their code via a public GitHub/GitLab URL or by uploading a ZIP file. The platform processes the files to deliver full documentation in under two minutes.Key FeaturesAbstract Syntax Tree (AST) Parsing: The platform uses AST parsing to extract functions, classes, dependencies, and API routes rather than just feeding raw, unstructured text to an AI model.Automated Deliverables: It instantly generates system architecture overviews, API references, module documentation, authentication flows, and database schemas.Smart Editing & Hosting: It features a web-based "pro editor" with AI assistance for manual refinements. It also includes a one-click hosting feature to deploy public, shareable links instantly without external servers.Export Capabilities: Generated files can be downloaded as Markdown, standard repository README files, HTML, or PDFs.Security Guardrails: Codocly does not store user source code; uploaded files are processed in-memory and immediately deleted once parsing is finished
