CodeTogether is a tool helps work together on code projects in real-time from anywhere. **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saksham S. | Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeTogether?**

Code Together is the best solution available for collaborative development. Since lockdown and remote work, the main issue while developing in teams was the lack of physical presence and collaborative development. As a student and a part-time freelancer, I've worked on various projects, and screen sharing does not simply solve our issues. Code Together is an all-in-one solution for all needs. It supports multiple IDEs and has an integrated video conferencing platform, so we do not need to shift to another application. One code together session provides us with everything. We can work on a single codebase together, also chat while development, and deploy to our local servers and share them over the internet so that other developers can also visit them.

**What do you dislike about CodeTogether?**

There is no such thing as disliking in CodeTogether. Nothing feels missing at all; every solution is integrated and available. However, I would like to see improvements in the user interface of the Video Conferencing platform with the addition of some Zoom features like polls and video effects.

**Recommendations to others considering CodeTogether:**

Start with the free plan and get a hold of using this software before making a purchase. Also, Code Together is free for educational use, so if you are a student, you can apply for education plan.

**What problems is CodeTogether solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem I faced before choosing Code Together was collaborative development. However, once I started using Code Together, I found various other benefits that I didn't realize I needed. Like sharing of the local development server, support for guest profiles, integrated communication using audio and video, sharing the test case results and support for multiple rooms.

These all features makes collaborative development more productive and fun.

**What do you like best about CodeTogether?**

Session hosting of code together is fantastic, and you can do it in seconds. CodeShare provides support for ide's like VS Code and intellij. Joining session from the browser is something awesome which doesn't bother the guests with installation of software into their PC's. The feature i liked most is its cross IDE compatibility.

**What do you dislike about CodeTogether?**

Everything in CodeTogether seems to be at its place and has every feature that a coder or developer needs while working in teams. CodeTogether Community foroum should be on their website page, just a suugestion if they can move it.

**Recommendations to others considering CodeTogether:**

Just go for it if you are looking for the live coding experience while developing software or web Applications.

**What problems is CodeTogether solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been using GitHub as a team collaboration platform for sharing code but can't do live coding on it. This problem git solved by CodeTogether gave my team the power to work more efficiently and faster.
