## About CamStreamer App
CamStreamer App is a type of live video streaming (in-camera ACAP) solution for Axis network cameras that helps organizations send live video directly to major platforms and protocols without external encoders, public IPs, or complex network setup. Designed for teams that already deploy Axis cameras – such as city IT, tourism and venue operations, higher-ed AV, worship tech, and security communications – the app runs inside the camera and is suited to 24/7 public views and scheduled event broadcasts. It can be accessed on the camera’s web UI or remotely through CamStreamer Cloud’s Control Panel and mobile app (when enabled). ✅ In-camera deployment on Axis IP cameras; no extra encoder or public IP required. ✅ Streams to YouTube and Facebook with deep feature support (scheduling, latency/DVR options, permanent link). ✅ Broad protocol coverage: RTMP/RTMPS, SRT (push/pull/rendezvous), HLS pull/push, MPEG-TS. ✅ 24/7 operation on YouTube with health monitoring and a stream keeper for temporary outages. ✅ API available for starting/stopping/creating streams and external triggers. CamStreamer App is “in-camera” streaming software (ACAP) for Axis devices. It uses the camera’s compute to produce the outbound stream, eliminating a separate encoder PC or encoder box. Access and control are available via the camera IP or through CamStreamer Cloud’s Control Panel/mobile app (requires an active Cloud service). 👍 Scheduling options include one-time and weekly schedules; manual start is also supported. 👍 Mobile Control Panel shows live stream lists, previews, and lets users pause or toggle streams (with Cloud). 👍 Works alongside CamOverlay App for on-camera graphics (e.g., weather, info ticker) and CamSwitcher App for mixing multiple camera feeds or SD-card clips into one output. 👍 Supported destinations include major RTMP platforms (e.g., Vimeo, Twitch) in addition to YouTube/Facebook. Typical use cases: ➡️ persistent city or nature views, ➡️ venue or campus communications, ➡️ sport events ➡️ and scheduled events that benefit from direct-to-platform streaming and protocol flexibility. Users can combine the app with other CamStreamer components (optional) to add overlays or multi-camera switching—still running on Axis hardware.
