Oh this is the real gap in a lot of zero trust rollouts, since many tools assume a company-managed device with an agent installed. Zscaler is worth checking here, it has browser-based and clientless access options specifically for covering contractors and unmanaged devices without requiring a full agent install. Absolute Secure Access is another strong, well-reviewed option built around resilient, persistent connectivity, though its core strength leans toward managed endpoints, so confirm its unmanaged-device story directly. CyberArk Workforce Identity and Okta both offer browser-based, agentless access paths that work well for contractors who shouldn't get a full corporate device profile. To be real, "unmanaged device" coverage almost always means trading off some endpoint-level security controls for browser-isolation or clientless access instead, so I'd ask each vendor exactly what security posture checks still apply without an agent. How many contractors are we talking, and do they need full app access or just specific web apps?
