## Bytebase Reviews
  ### 1. Bytebase Makes Database Change Management Clean, Safe, and Fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eddie W. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Bytebase?**

A great experience using Bytebase.

What stands out immediately is how much it simplifies database change management. The workflow is clean and structured - schema migrations, reviews, and approvals are all handled in one place, which significantly reduces risk compared to ad hoc scripts or manual processes.

The UI is intuitive, even for teams that aren’t deeply specialized in database ops. It’s easy to track changes, audit history, and understand what’s been deployed and why. The SQL review and approval flow is especially valuable since it enforces discipline without slowing the team down.

Overall, Bytebase strikes a strong balance between governance and developer velocity. It’s a solid choice if you want to bring more structure and safety to database operations without adding unnecessary friction.

**What do you dislike about Bytebase?**

Occasionally, the updates have caused some regressions that slowed us down from deploying through Bytebase. However, the team has been quick to respond to incidents and patches to get schemas changes flowing through again.

**What problems is Bytebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DB / Schema management across teams and various DBs.

  ### 2. Secure, Granular Database Access Control Made Easy with Bytebase

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Bytebase?**

Before adopting Bytebase, we had built our own in-house system for managing database access permissions. By leveraging features such as the GUI SQL Editor, data masking, and permission management, we are now able to connect to and manage our databases more securely. We particularly appreciate the ability to control permissions in a granular way using roles and permissions.

**What do you dislike about Bytebase?**

Nothing in particular. We have occasionally encountered bugs after version upgrades, but whenever we reported them, the Bytebase team promptly investigated and addressed the issues.

**What problems is Bytebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before adopting Bytebase, we were managing database access permissions through our own in-house system and connecting to databases using multiple tools, which made configuration and management time-consuming. By introducing Bytebase, we were able to consolidate these tools into a single platform and delegate permission management to Bytebase, significantly streamlining our database connection and management workflows. Additionally, the ability to control permissions in a granular way using roles and permissions has given us greater confidence in our security posture.

  ### 3. Simple, Robust Tool That Makes Database Migrations Less Scary

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex S. | CTO, Automotive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Bytebase?**

Very simple to use, very robust and smooth. It makes handling database migrations a lot less scary and maintainable.

**What do you dislike about Bytebase?**

Nothing really. I'm pretty happy with it.

**What problems is Bytebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scary migrations...

  ### 4. Decent database query tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Bytebase?**

Good open source to review workflow with SQL, works well with GitHub, easy for data migration and backup

**What do you dislike about Bytebase?**

Maybe better alternatives out there such as MySQ, ManageDB or Prisma for extra functions. Free version only offers somewhat limited functions, meanwhile paid can be rather steep for extra capabilities.

**What problems is Bytebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None so far
