This comprehensive view significantly enhances our understanding of the security posture in a single reporting plane. Additionally, the tool's flexibility in customization aligns well with our specific organization needs. **What do you dislike about Brinqa?** Brinqa's speed of implementation in bringing in all different data sources leaves room for improvement, affecting both the initial setup and ongoing integration of requirements. The general issue around data source integration is caused by insufficient support and FTE resources from the vendor, making it a challenging endeavor to streamline operations. Additionally, the tool presents a steep learning curve, requiring considerable time and effort to master and maintain. This impacts our team's efficiency and contributes to operational complexities. Our team employs full time resources to see to the "care and feeding" of the tool as well as future development of requirements. **What problems is Brinqa solving and how is that benefiting you?** Brinqa serves as a centralized hub for risk management, offering a single pane of glass that simplifies the tracking and resolution of operational and organizational risk issues. Its value extends beyond mere visualization; it acts as a conduit for integrating asset vulnerability data and ownership information, which is then funneled into our work assignment system and socialized to vulnerability owners. We are using Brinqa to combine data from our vulnerability management tool with our application security tool to give us a hollistic view of all of our applications and servers, and it has helped us determine real risk and prioritization. **What do you dislike about Brinqa?** Very steep learning curve. Out of Box deployment works, but customization and vizualisation can be tricky. **What problems is Brinqa solving and how is that benefiting you?** Brinqa brings all of our data together into one centralized location. It has helped us enrich host data with data from multiple sources, set a real risk on vulnerabilities by checking CVEs against CISA, NIST, EPSS, etc. We are also using Brinqa to map out our web applications to internal and external servers, business units, and point of contacts. ### 3. A lot of competitors are rigid and only allow a few customizations on reports or pre-defined views. The ability to import a lot of different data sources, combine and determine risk is very powerful. The ease of connecting APIs to import data is also straightforward. There are a lot of features that advanced users can take advantage of, but it is also becoming easier for everyday users to customize. The timeline on customer support is also very quick. **What do you dislike about Brinqa?** One downside is all of the customization. It can be overwhelming at times, especially during the initial setup. Molding organizational data to fit into data formats that Brinqa expects can also be challenging. With such a large platform with many features, there are quite a few bugs that have to be worked out. This can slow progress until they are fixed in an upcoming release. **What problems is Brinqa solving and how is that benefiting you?** Brinqa is solving a few problems. We didn't have a centralized application inventory or details about the applications. However, we have been able to add this information into Brinqa, add owners, URLs, documentation, etc for each entry. The previous process of adding manually adding vulnerabilities was inefficient. Using the new standard process in Brinqa and its automation, creating vulnerabilities and tickets has been great. Finally, determining risk for applications and servers has benefited us when looking at new CVEs. ### 4. Ease of understanding the true holistic picture of risk across the environment as well as being able to offer our customers self-service for the critical information they need quickly. **What do you dislike about Brinqa?** Steep learning curve and challenges that come with implementation and not even knowing the questions we SHOULD be asking as we deploy. **What problems is Brinqa solving and how is that benefiting you?** Bringing together all our disparate sources of truth and risk and having the ability to tune to our needs and shape the data the give us a easy to understand prioritization of remediation. ### 5. It is NOT a VM tool, at best it is a data aggregator. It has countless issues with data accuracy and often just fails to work at all. I cannot recommend the tool. **What problems is Brinqa solving and how is that benefiting you?** Brinqa is not solving any of our VM or ASM problems at the moment. It mostly just sucks up engineering time trying to get the thing to do anything useful at all, and once you have a dashboard you are constantly questioning how accurate it is. ### 6. We have been dealing with Brinqa support for months trying to work out some issues and we are still not able to get a few minor things resolved. **What problems is Brinqa solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before Brinqa we used speadsheets for tracking. This became a very difficult process with the amount of vulneraiblitis we were trying to rack. ### 7. The connectors out of the box covered the majority of our use cases and we've had a good experience when requesting new connections. Even when a native connector is not available, being able to use "generic" connections like SQL and CSV give us tremendous flexibility. **What do you dislike about Brinqa?** We faced challenges with performance and the size of our database that took time to work through. Our initial implementation had challenges when faced with our level of desire for customization, but that was resolved. **What problems is Brinqa solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using Brinqa to power our Vulnerability Management program, covering infrastructure, application and cloud security risks. By consolidating all of the data into a single location, allowing us to custom the risk scores to our environment, and to make this easily accessible by our users has driven significant improvements in our overall risk. ### 9. You should plan time and resources to achieve a common data model that meets your needs. **What problems is Brinqa solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Brinqa to aggregate scan data for a variety of assets such as hosts, code, containers, serverless, et al, and combine with contextual data such as application, owner, business criticality and data classification. We then build dashboards for application owners and their leaders to show how they perform in VM relative to Enterprise SLAs. Advice on how to improve is automatically included and is highly actionable. ### 10. Their company representatives were highly effective negotiators and salespeople. **What do you dislike about Brinqa?** The Brinqa team could not deliver a working solution at a Fortune 500 company. Critical functionality did not work; significant deliverable deadlines were missed despite numerous meetings with company executives and re-baselined implementation project deadlines. The implementation was abandoned when several senior risk executives refused to attend any further project oversight meetings.
