BRIGADE Reviews & Product Details

What is BRIGADE? BRIGADE is a structural analysis and design software for bridges and civil engineering structures, used to model, analyse, and verify load-bearing capacity, serviceability, and dynamic behaviour throughout a structure’s lifecycle. The software is developed for engineers who work with bridges and similar infrastructure and need a transparent, calculation-driven workflow that aligns with international standards such as Eurocodes and national annexes. BRIGADE is commonly used in both new design and assessment of existing structures, including road bridges, railway bridges, and complex civil structures where load combinations, influence lines/surfaces, and dynamic effects are central. BRIGADE belongs to the category of structural engineering and finite element analysis software. It combines classical structural mechanics with numerical methods, allowing users to work at both global and local levels of a model. The system supports beam, shell, and solid representations and allows engineers to choose the level of detail required for a given task without changing tools. Typical use cases include ultimate and serviceability limit state verification, fatigue assessment, load rating of existing bridges, and dynamic analysis under traffic or railway loads. The software is often used by consulting engineers, infrastructure owners, and public authorities who require traceable results and clear calculation logic. Key capabilities and characteristics of BRIGADE include: Structural modelling and analysis Tools for linear and nonlinear analysis of bridge structures, including static, moving load, and dynamic calculations. Code-based verification Built-in support for Eurocodes and national regulations, with calculation outputs structured to support engineering review and documentation. Road and rail traffic load models are included in the software. Bridge-specific workflows Native handling of influence lines/surfaces, traffic load models, staged construction, and structural idealizations commonly used in bridge engineering. Integration and scalability Designed to handle small assessment models as well as large, detailed bridge systems, with options for parallel processing and integration with other simulation tools. Engineering transparency Results are presented in a way that allows engineers to follow assumptions, load effects, and governing combinations rather than relying on black-box automation. BRIGADE is used when engineers need control over their structural assumptions, confidence in standards compliance, and a workflow that reflects how bridge engineering is actually practiced.
