**What problems is Bloomberg Law solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At times, it can be challenging to sift through news and legal cases online. Bloomberg Law simplifies this process for me, allowing me to quickly locate the cases and updates I need to stay informed.

**What do you dislike about Bloomberg Law?**

Nothing as of now. Overall, Bloomberg Law is a reliable and robust tool for legal professionals seeking accurate and up-to-date legal information.

**What problems is Bloomberg Law solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform is known for its extensive coverage of business and financial law, making it particularly valuable for professionals in those fields.

  ### 3. Good not great.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trent R. | Law Clerk, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Bloomberg Law?**

Bloomberg has all of the best features of Lexis and Westlaw, with a complete case law database, as well as document searching of state and federal dockets, making it easy to keep track of cases.

**What do you dislike about Bloomberg Law?**

Bloomberg fails to include secondary sources and treatises that are necessary for researching problems that pop up in cases that do not involve business law issues, such corporate law, tax law, and securities law. Because my research often needs to include digging into civil rights, labor law, and constitutional law issues, I have to leave Bloomberg's site for another service to get in-depth sources needed for starting research on an issue, which is frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering Bloomberg Law:**

Get familiar with Boolean searching, as searching with natural language is not a feature currently supported. Also, look to supplement your bank of research resources with secondary sources elsewhere, such as books or other subscriptions. All in all, though, Bloomberg offers a solid alternative to Lexis and Westlaw.

**What problems is Bloomberg Law solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used it to answer basic legal questions and finding intra-circuit and intra-district precedent to support decisions on sometimes complex legal questions. I also use it to keep track of similar cases that are pending in other courts and may offer insight, particularly with case management.

  ### 4. Westlaw and Lexis are far superior

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Bloomberg Law?**

I liked all the free things they gave out during my time in law school. They do have some content that the other legal research websites do not offer, but for nearly all legal research tasks, it is inferior.

**What do you dislike about Bloomberg Law?**

It is far inferior to Westlaw and Lexis when it comes to finding the correct answer and research ease. The platform itself is more complicated to navigate than the other two, and they do not offer the same quality of treatises.

**What problems is Bloomberg Law solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. I use Westlaw while wishing I still had Lexis. Bloomberg did not offer the same level of training or emersion during my time in law school. Despite having been hired as a "representative," I still did not receive training in actually using the advanced features, which is a shame because they do appear to offer things that Westlaw and Lexis do not.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Bloomberg Law?**

I love searching the various parts of Bloomberg (news, dockets, opinions, BCite, precedential material) without incurring a per search fee. I use it for everything - news, dockets, administrative research. It's evolving and changing every day with new analytics and precedent documents. I really need to use the features of BCite more. I think that is an underutilized feature. I am currently using the Tax page to monitor the upcoming budget Reconciliation package. I hope to share this content with other tax users at my firm as new content is added to this page. Budget reconciliation is a hot topic, and I trust Bloomberg to help us track news and the legislative drafts until the final end product!

**What do you dislike about Bloomberg Law?**

I don't like the way it has a lag time for downloads. Sometimes you have to wait for it to email you a link to print/open a document. I also don't always know when to use the big search box or when to go directly to a data source. Some users don't understand the court courier process and may schedule a court run that they did not intend.

**Recommendations to others considering Bloomberg Law:**

If you need a comprehensive suite of products to assist with litigation and transactional work, consider Bloomberg. I set up news and docket alerts and check them daily. I use the Bcite feature to update cases and look for new ones. I use the analytics for business development and to support current cases looking up opposing counsel and jugdges. So many ways to use this product. Their Customer Service via email or chat is amazing! They are there when you need them, too.

**What problems is Bloomberg Law solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Every day I monitor news related to CFIUS and trade sanctions. I do a News search and search these by topic to keep up with the news. I am also monitoring the China bill and the news articles are helpful in that regard as well. I have a lot of docket alerts by party name for business development. I am running a new docket alert for public Covid-19 cases where the Plaintiff is the United States, a government agency, state or federal, or the attorney general. It works well for that. When I see a news article about a Covid-fraud related case, I search for the parties in dockets and add them to the firm's tracker. I read the Bloomberg Covid-19 newsletter, too. I like the company lookup. I use it for looking up subsidiaries and executives as well as litigation and news snapshots. I also use Judicial and Litigation Analytics. Now I'm heavily using the tax page to monitor pending legislation. Bloomberg content is improving all the time and is very current and helpful in my daily library research!

  ### 9. It’s a great technology resource for myself and my firm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Bloomberg Law?**

The user interface is fresh and clean, I'm able to research what I need quickly and with very good results

**What do you dislike about Bloomberg Law?**

The cost is my only dislike, but I use this often for research and it's invaluable

**Recommendations to others considering Bloomberg Law:**

It's a great resource but a little pricey

**What problems is Bloomberg Law solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Researching for cases and info for clients

  ### 10. A granular and fast information service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Bloomberg Law?**

As a professional journalist, I need to follow legal developments to understand how the industries I cover may be affected. Bloomberg Law provides information, reporting, and analysis faster than mainstream news services. I like how there are no ads.

**What do you dislike about Bloomberg Law?**

Editors could filter news with more intentionality. There is an information overload sometimes, and I need to prioritize.

**What problems is Bloomberg Law solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bloomberg Law provides me with highly up-to-date and comprehensive information for writing research reports.

  ### 11. Law for the Business-minded person.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Bloomberg Law?**

It uses data analytics and artificial intelligence for online legal research. Also it offers news information to attorneys, law students, and other legal professionals.

**What do you dislike about Bloomberg Law?**

It doesn't have the same cultural/social standing as West Law.

**What problems is Bloomberg Law solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, it doesn't have the same cultural/social standing as West Law.
