The “stock” file history is pretty bad for stepping back through versions, but Backup Xplorer makes this much easier. It’s also cool that it works for files outside of the list of folders supported by File History (Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Desktop folders). **What do you dislike about BackUp Xplorer?** Only Windows supported currently for Backup Xplorer **What problems is BackUp Xplorer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easier revision history for important files I use ### 4. The UI is clear and easy to follow – even for the more complex backup routines. **What do you dislike about BackUp Xplorer?** I didn't dislike anything. It's worked in every way I need it to. The only thing I'd like to see is a feature that automatically asks if you want to apply a backup template when creating a new document. **What problems is BackUp Xplorer solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am a writer using Publisher for the working copy of a new novel. BackUp Xplorer has been an invaluable tool. Having the automatic backups in several places (including my OneDrive and Google Drive locations) has made power outages and dropped connections a non-issue no matter where I’m working from, or on what device. My work is always saved and all versions are immediately accessible in multiple locations. ### 5. Took a little longer to set up than I thought it would. **Recommendations to others considering BackUp Xplorer:** If you've ever lost some valuable edits or saved over something that you wished that you hadn't, and you value your time and what it takes to redo a document, then it seems like this a no brainer and the cost is more than worth it. **What problems is BackUp Xplorer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our teams work exclusively remote and we share a lot of documents with a several people, and we've always struggled with coming back to earlier edits that we just liked better.
