## Azure Stack Reviews
  ### 1. Azure Stack Unveiled

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gajan A. | Sr Azure Cloud Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Azure Stack?**

In the Azure stack , hybrid capabilities of this solution streamline application development and management across on-premises, multi-cloud, and edge environments, fostering consistency. It empowers businesses by enabling them to leverage cloud services while maintaining sensitive data on-premises to adhere to compliance or regulatory requirements. With scalability comparable to Azure, organizations can efficiently scale resources up or down in response to demand. Furthermore, its seamless integration with various Azure services, tools, and technologies ensures a unified and comprehensive user experience. Ultimately, it grants heightened control over data, security, and compliance, surpassing the governance offered by public cloud services.

**What do you dislike about Azure Stack?**

Implementing and managing Azure Stack requires expertise in both Azure and on-premises infrastructure, while the initial setup costs and ongoing maintenance expenses can be high, potentially making it less cost-effective for smaller businesses or organizations with limited IT budgets. Additionally, specific hardware configurations are necessary for deployment, potentially limiting deployment options. Despite offering on-premises cloud-like capabilities, some services within Azure Stack might still rely on internet connectivity, impacting functionalities during network outages. Furthermore, not all Azure services are available on Azure Stack, restricting the range of options for certain applications or workloads.

**What problems is Azure Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developers harness Azure Stack's capabilities to craft applications that seamlessly operate across Azure and on-premises environments, streamlining the development workflow and mitigating compatibility concerns. This technology provides organizations with the flexibility to capitalize on Azure services while retaining sensitive data or specialized workloads on-premises, ensuring compliance, data sovereignty, or meeting low-latency demands. Moreover, Azure Stack's deployment of Azure services at the edge empowers edge computing scenarios, enabling swift data processing closer to its origin, thereby slashing latency and bolstering performance for vital applications. Simultaneously, it facilitates adherence to regulatory standards, as it confines sensitive data within defined geographic boundaries, bolstering security and delivering elevated control over data residency, thereby fortifying compliance and security measures.

**What do you like best about Azure Stack?**

Azure Stack is really helpful in getting server applications off the ground quickly, due to the easy-to-use interface.

**What do you dislike about Azure Stack?**

The customer service can be lacking at times, which makes it difficult to get problems solved in a timely manner. Indeed, my frustration with the customer service of Azure Stack is pretty much the biggest problem I face - the platform itself is very rarely problematic, but when it is, it is a very large pain to actually fix.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Stack:**

Everyone else using Azure Stack should consider the many methods of integration with other elements of the tech workflow. Indeed, Azure's biggest benefit is that it makes it exceedingly easy to work with any number of other platforms to make development and deployment super easy. Our last app was hosted using Azure and this platform was literally a lifesaver - having all of the backend in one place made it way simpler to complete our work and do everything properly.

**What problems is Azure Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure Stack allows us to unify all the various functions we need in our server based applications. It has made back end management a lot easier for us.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure Stack?**

Azure stack is in house dtatacenter that has Azure cloud features and is constantly connected to public Azure and ready for expansion, this gives you time to expand your data center at your own pase and use public cloud for dynamic demands.

**What do you dislike about Azure Stack?**

One problem is that when you install Azure stack on to your data center, you can only support 16 nodes of servers beyond which nodes cannot be expanded. Here nodes means physical servers. This is Microsoft limitation on Azure stack and this creates serious problems for big companies which wants to expand on data center seamlessly.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Stack:**

When you want Microsoft hybrid cloud on premises, go for Azure stack

**What problems is Azure Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure stack is hybrid cloud, so distributed applications can reside both on premises and in public cloud and still abide by local region laws for data protection. You can decide for example that the application sensitive user data resides on premises and can be sure there won't be any compromises latter and other application data can reside in cheap cloud storages.
