## Azure Migrate Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Cloud Migration with Azure Migrate

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William Adrian C. | Consultor TI AZURE , Computer & Network Security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

What I enjoy best about Azure Migrate is how it streamlines the process of transferring workloads to the cloud. It is extremely useful since it evaluates on-premises environments, finds dependencies, and makes recommendations, making migration planning much simpler. The major benefits are that it saves time, minimizes risks, and provides a clear roadmap for cloud adoption, allowing teams to migrate confidently and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

The initial setup and configuration of Azure Migrate may be a little complicated, particularly in big or highly specialized systems, which is what I find less useful. In order to make conclusions that can be put into practice, some of the evaluation findings may also be overwhelming or require careful interpretation. Even though it's an effective tool, getting the most out of its suggestions occasionally calls for more work and knowledge.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure Migrate provides a transparent evaluation of on-premises infrastructures, identifies dependencies, and makes suggestions for the transfer in order to address the issue of complicated and dangerous cloud migrations. I gain from this since it minimizes possible problems during migration, saves time, and reduces uncertainty.

From a business standpoint, it facilitates cloud adoption, enhances planning precision, and guarantees a more seamless shift to Azure, enabling teams to move workloads effectively and confidently.

  ### 2. Azure Migrate: Best way to go cloud

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samir A. | Cloud Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Easy to use. One image must be imported in the vcenter, and the discovery can start.
All servers in the same vcenter are assessed, and we get regularly some update on compatibility and sizing in very well presented dashboard.
Ability to export excel file to rework the data.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

more detailled metrics like cpu and memory usage in real time. (can be done with azure service map)

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Migrate:**

Use Azure Migrate for a quick assessment, 30 days are needed to collect and get reliable reports based on a full month metrics.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Azure Migrate, I can collect all metrics I need to prepare the move to cloud.
Reports give me enough information to determine targets on the cloud and estimate the cost and efforts.

  ### 5. Azure Migrate review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Very simple to use. There are plenty of resources that can help assist with the migration.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

True cost estimates are vague and cannot achieve a more accurate costs without using other tools and resources.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Migrating data center systems into the cloud solution. Minimize cost of IT operations.

  ### 6. Super User Friendly!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassidy M. | Mass Audience Marketing Intern, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Azure was great and easy to work with during my internship with a software company. Microsoft Azure has many user guides that allow just about anyone to use the product. I would highly recommend it to just about anyone.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

Some explanation contained too much jargon, especially for someone just starting out in the industry. Since I was an intern with I used it, some of it went over my head. The user guides really helped though.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Migrate:**

Microsoft makes Azure seem like the best product because it is one of the best. Although my use was minimal, the product speaks volumes. Since it's Microsoft you don't have to worry about quality or support - they really care about those aspects of their company.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were solving data protection issues. The benefits greatly outweighed the costs because overall it was very easy to use. The migration is one of the fastest and safest I've seen.

  ### 7. A great free service to migrate you application to Azure and to map your application links

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** allan t. | Consultant senior en technologie de l'information, coach RH, coach livraison, VMUG leader Quebec, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Azure migrate is a virtual appliance that you install on your datacenter, it will analyse your datacenter and make an estimation of what will be the cost to run it inside azure. Azure migrate will be also able to construct a map of your application interaction with the analytics agent install on your device. This last service offer as a free trial for a couple of days. You will be able to know what applications is talking to who on which port. it is a very powerfull tool

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

Azure migrate only offer a migration to Azure (not surprising). If you want to have the full map of your applications inside your datacenter, you need to install an agent locally on each server and you may want to remove it when trial will be finished. For the cost estimation Azure migrate will not take advantage of Microsoft PAAS solution, it will give you a one to one conversion estimation, so you will need to use azure calculator to optimize your cost evaluation and use PAAS solutions (cheaper).

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Migrate:**

you should install azure analytics client inside your datacenter so you will get a more accurate map of what can be migrate and how you should migrate it

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure migrate gave me an accurate description of the applications relations inside my datacenter without spending to much time to analyse.

  ### 8. Helped us move several of our on-prem VM workloads to the Azure cloud.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

It was fairly easy to use because of the discovery features and being aware of HyperV platforms that we had on-prem. It identified dependencies that we hadn't thought of when making the move, calling out gaps in our plan. It made our end to end process easier to plan and navigate.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

Like any tool of this nature, you get some false positives or suggestions that aren't as crucial or dependent as the software thinks. Other than that, it worked fairly well for us. I'd rather know more and scale down what I don't need than to not know the gaps existed in the first place.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Migrate:**

It worked well for our needs migrating HyperV VM workloads from on-prem to Azure. I am sure there are more features planned and improvements coming, so check for the latest features before ruling this tool out.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Migrating on-prem HyperV VMs to the Azure cloud.

  ### 9. Azure migrate - simple and easy process to keep your On premise metadata on Cloud

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nishant A. | ICT Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

It automatically detects and helps you identify the right Virtual Machine size and configuration after analyzing the utilization history from the On-Premises VM.
It see the dependency of our VMs and create move groups so that nothing is left behind while migrating to cloud.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

Relatively new generally available feature, still exploring it. There is nothing bad about it yet.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Migrate:**

This is a great utility for those who are planning to migrate the On Premise VMs to Azure and offers a lot of customization as per your requirement.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives me confidence to move the on premise machine to azure without any hassle as it does a lot of homework beforehand.

  ### 10. Azure Migrate review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Susan B. | Vice President , Finance, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

VMware VMs running within its own data center, including CPU and memory usage, as well as performance history reporting

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

Dowloading and installing the Collector appliance

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Migrate:**

Be sure to have the right level of resources dedicated to the Collector Appliance portion of the project- we did not and therefore were two months behind schedule.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Installing the agents on premise to enable the dependency mapping features took more time than expected. We did, however, find some surprising data hogs during this process, so that was a tremendous benefit.

  ### 11. Azure Migrate

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Azure migrate has became an essential part of our work environment. So far the best part is how the program estimates the costs of running our on premise machines. We have run four sample tests which came back very close to the estimation. We are pleased with that aspect.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

We found out that the program only assesses VMware managed by certain severs 5.5 and up. Unfortunately all of our servers were not updated at the time we began using the product. We are currently in the process of doing that. Afterwards, all should work well.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have successfully ensured our on premise machinery performs with regard to cloud migration and the costs.

  ### 12. Near Flawless Migration

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

I haven't found anything that I did not like. I will update this review if I do.

Users were anything between anxious and terrified about moving to the cloud. Azure, alleviated this by making Migration ridiculously easy.

  ### 13. Azure Migration

We can migrate on-premises machine and data to Azure machine using Azure migrate application.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

Azure support 20 project per subscription.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Migrate:**

We can leverage your on-premises system and boost your environment. Not cost effective for small size company,.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can centralized our data and get required action on security.

  ### 14. Azure simplifies migration

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Azure has taken the complexity out of cloud migration. With a simple stream lined process it’s become a simple to implement solution for my clients.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

There’s nothing I dislike about azure migrate

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Migrations are scary enough let alone cloud migrations for clients who unfamilar with the technology behind it. We’ve been able to stream line the migration process and give customers great cost estimates.

  ### 15. Azure Migrate effective and easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Data Migration from onprem to azure was super easy to replicate and manage.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

replication might take a while depending on how much data is coming across

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Migrate:**

this worked very well with vmware. Just make sure that the virtual machine manager that is being used has enough space for data replication.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

migration to azure from on prem. one benefit is elastisity

  ### 16. Performance and functionality of Cloud providers is key to my customer's success.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2015

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Having the majority of my customers on a Microsoft based platform makes Azure an easy and obvious choice for cloud based applications and disaster recovery infrastructure. Seamless integration and migration of Microsoft applications to the cloud are simple and organic to Azure, making the decision to relocate business critical applications to the cloud a no brainer.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

Azure does not have all of the native platform and core services as AWS, nor as many geographically dispersed data "zones/regions" limiting customers to only those supported applications and geo-replication options.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data management in the cloud. Data migration to the cloud. Hybrid approach to data management to include granular recovery of on prem and off prem, cloud-based data. Direct to cloud data protection and archive.

**What do you like best about Azure Migrate?**

Flexibility, scalability, security. It is reachable from any PC anywhere if you need to manage. I think it gives more people time back so that they can spend it with their families.

**What do you dislike about Azure Migrate?**

no inter communication between regions when using site-to-site on prem.

**What problems is Azure Migrate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

cost. Migrating helps us scale down from our datacenter deployment and scale up on a global scale.
