We tried to pipe video assets from S3 to MediaPackage to serve fixed-media content, but that process isn't very straightforward and the automation took more effort than necessary. Apparently the MediaPackage is also very sensitive about the asset format, so we gave up on that. It would be ideal to unify live streaming and media assets with MediaPackage though. The best feature of this service I like most is that it can convert the format of videos for different devices in real-time.
