You do not need to set up your own server from scratch on an EC2 instance, instead, it will spin all the required services all on its own. **What do you dislike about AWS Elastic Beanstalk?** While the tool is great to use, it gets often complex to customize the servers as per your specific needs. I had trouble setting up the reverse proxy and custom virtual hosts for my nodejs apps and finally, I had to use a custom server setup on an EC2 instance. So, if you are new to cloud services it is very helpful. It also supports Windows and Linux platforms as a server which is a great help. We cannot SSH into the server provisioned but it takes care of updating and security automatically. It basically adds an extra extraction layer between the server and OS (operating system), which makes it easy to deploy and manage apps on AWS. This makes it easy to deploy and scale web applications and services. Likes - you get snapshot application logs from EC2 instances (always handy) and you get email notifications through SNS for app health changes. **What do you dislike about AWS Elastic Beanstalk?** It is free in that you only pay for the services that you used to run your application, such as S3.
