It is easy to use and the service uses an agent or VM that makes reads and writes. **What do you dislike about AWS DataSync?** when it comes to very large amounts of data AWS Datasync can't help you because it takes a lot of time, resources and an amount instead of AWS Datasync you can choose AWS Snowball or Snowball Edge for Data migrations. **What problems is AWS DataSync solving and how is that benefiting you?** AWS Datasync service makes consumers easy to use, cost-effective and makes secure data transfer in a recent update, AWS Datasync transferring agents become more effective and solved problems that occurred before. ### 2. It is quite affordable comparatively with other. **What do you dislike about AWS DataSync?** Use of $ in share names. At least allow escape characters when creating locations. Bit more logging and ability to test mount shares from within the appliance. I had to test mine by launching a separate instance in the same VPC **What problems is AWS DataSync solving and how is that benefiting you?** I had a DataSync appliance deployed as an EC2 instance in a VPC with no direct internet access. Deploying it in a VPC meant I could use our DirectConnect connection to access on-premises storage. I also had a VPC endpoint configured for DataSync service to avoid sending data through the public internet. Even though in this case it would have been AWS's own network. ### 3. It gives you so much that you almost don't have to maintain it. Excellent value for money. Very dependable. There are numerous options. The dashboard tools are fantastic. Monitoring is ideal when used in conjunction with CloudWatch. Networking and security tools are highly adaptable. When you need a server, this is almost a proper tool to have in your technical toolbox. **What do you dislike about AWS DataSync?** The number of options and setting options available only adds to the complexity of usage. It can take some time to understand how to use Amazon EC2. To begin using it, we had to retrain our team. Windows price is a little high, but it's preferable not to operate servers on Windows in the first place. They must have a free support level for paying clients with a specific volume that at the very least facilitates bug reporting. We pay them over $10,000 per month, and it's ridiculous that we can't even send them a support email or have a chat without spending hundreds of dollars more per month. **What problems is AWS DataSync solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've been able to tackle various issues, ranging from simple hosting to applications that have evolved and required scaling. For the most part, the setups are basic, and you can genuinely grow without spending a lot of money or time on astronomical solutions. ### 4. Everybody in the company, from developers to UX/UI designers, finds it intuitive and never needed any assistance to have access to our files. **What do you dislike about AWS DataSync?** Sometimes it's a bit laggy. It's nothing very problematic but I notice that the speed of downloads and access to different pages differs from time to time. **Recommendations to others considering AWS DataSync:** Start with a short amount of data, otherwise, you can feel a bit lost at the beginning. **What problems is AWS DataSync solving and how is that benefiting you?** I need to test a lot of different app versions each day and AWS DataSync allows me to access those APKs wherever I am. As a growth marketer, I use it essentially to provide insights to the development team and download and install new updated versions without any security issues that we already had with some other tools, like instant message channels. ### 5. With help of data sync, we can perform many actions like migrating our data that is the main use-case, retrieving data from amazon servers, with AWS trust it provides the best data protection. **What do you dislike about AWS DataSync?** It provides almost every thing that can be needed from the data sync service , so there is none dislike point from me. **What problems is AWS DataSync solving and how is that benefiting you?** We migrate our clients data every 4 months from our servers to Amazon Servers. ### 6. It helped us in easily setting the event triggers and in making our workflow automated and the Cloudwatch logs help a lot in monitoring the workflow. Also, it's really cost-efficient. **What do you dislike about AWS DataSync?** Lack of documentation and not the availability of pre-built POCs for showing it to stakeholders. **Recommendations to others considering AWS DataSync:** AWS DataSync is definitely super-efficient and easily manageable, if you're looking to find some solutions to move your on-premise database or planning to create multiple backups then AWS DataSync can be the best choice. **What problems is AWS DataSync solving and how is that benefiting you?** In our agency, we have one client from a video conferencing product, they had a huge db of recordings of test data of video calls, with different levels of load tests and much more unstructured data. All were stored on their premise infra. We used DataSync for creating archives and migrating all the data structurally to the s3. ### 7.
