This has enabled us to save quite a bit of money as we have created CloudWatch events that spin down instances at night and during weekends. **What do you dislike about AWS Auto Scaling?** It seems that AutoScaling does not properly work when configured to scale based on total % memory utilization. It also takes quite a bit of understanding and analysis to properly configure both ASG's and ECS Task Scaling. When scaling down, Auto Scaling does not adequatley take into account which tasks are running on an instance that is being scaled down and whether or not that task has active threads.
