Aware IM is a smart tool, managing our business over the internet was a big deal for us but with it, it has become highly efficient and it has helped us in automating business processes and surprisingly it doesn’t demand to form us to have a complete understanding of database and that of programming too. With it, we have become able to develop complex tasks with so much ease and comfort. AwareIM is a very powerful rapid application development tool. Technically, its based on Java platform which gives it more reliability, security and robustness. You can use most of the databases with it i.e. MySQL/MSSQL/Oracle and Derby. So far, we have developed 19 Enterprise Apps on AwareIM with an average user count of 1600 which are live in Production. Application development time gets reduced by 70% in comparison to conventional software development. It provides almost all the features which an application requires i.e. Email/Gantt Chart/ Reports/ Online doc,excel edit using Zoho and Office 365/ CSV downloads for data and much more. Along with web desktop app, you can instantly have mobile friendly app as well which works on browser or you can create an installer using Phonegap. It has so much in one package and price is very reasonable. You need not be a technical expert to develop an app using AwareIM. Eventually, its a "No Code" platform which enables almost everyone to develop a software application. However, if you are a tech geek, you can add more flavors with your skills and can achieve almost everything which is not a native offering from AwareIM. Through custom HTML/CSS and Java code, you can enhance its capabilities. My 100 out of 100 to this product.

It has a closed community as of now with very less experts and developers which makes it sometime difficult to overcome with a technical issue. Only one developer can work on one app (bsv) at one time so increasing manpower to meet timelines in case of critical deliveries does not work well here. Rest all is good. One of AwareIM's biggest strengths is that it lets you concentrate on the business rules and how the application should work. AwareIM manages the DB and all changes and relationships for you. There is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning but once you understand how AwareIM works you can develop applications rather quickly. AwareIM also lets you fully customizes forms, queries and what they call Visual Perspectives with HTML and CSS to get the exact look you like. AwareIM lets you connect to any ISP for sending and receiving emails. Built in Calendars and scheduling feature. Graph support. AwareIM uses the latest Kendo UI from Intelerik for great looking forms and grids. AwareIM lets you add Java Script Plug-In's in case there is something you need to do that AwareIM on its own cannot handle. AwareIM supports. RESTful API as well as geo tags for Google maps. Reporting is based on Jasper report and is a little cumbersome compared to the actual Jasper reports tool but you can still create some nice reports. v8.1 has added a lot more reporting features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a developer for over 30 years, having worked with all types of L3G and L4G development tools, I can affirm that Aware IM offers all the features a web developer could dream of.

Indeed, in terms of browser-based data management applications (HTML5 / CSS), Aware IM offers a very comprehensive package of functions and features that make it immediately operational for producing applications intended for end users.

Aware IM offers a new approach in the development of management applications with the implementation of a rules engine (RETE algorithm).

Unlike scripting languages, business rules in Aware IM are expressed in business terms and do not include technical elements such as variables or loops. Each business rule simply states what should happen, when it should happen, and is independent of other rules.

When Aware IM detects data changes, it automatically executes the affected rules.

Fast form design based on the business object.

Automatic consistency checking and updating - change the name of an attribute and the system updates EVERY reference to it for you. Means naming mistakes can be fixed at any time with no development impact.

REST API calls have been added recently and has enabled significantly improved access to external data and a reduced need for internal reference data.

Active community and forum with members available round the world.

Community has active user group meetings and semi annual conferences.

Tool allows the user to worry less about the technical aspects of how things are done, and focus on the business needs and the user experience. The tool has developed in leaps and bounds since I first started using it. The developers are really responsive to issues and queries, but some time needs to be taken to engage in a root and branch rewrite and re-platform of the help and documentation.

Many of the configuration settings are not accessible via UI and require a lot of digging about in config files.
