The most helpful thing about Autodesk Viewer is its accessibility for Site Engineers like me. Given that this software's functionality exceeds expectations, its performance is still top-notch, for even large CAD files are accessible. The user interface is spotless and user-friendly, even for beginners. The best part is that the application does not consume much storage space while providing exceptional features rivaling AUTOCAD Autodesk. On the collaboration portion, it is helpful that multiple users have access to designs simultaneously real-time. This allows my team to engage actively through comments and markups on numerous drawings shared via this application. What do you dislike about Autodesk Viewer? The ability of Autodesk Viewer to provide a simple user interface has its drawbacks. Because of the limited file size of the application, its features and capabilities are also limited to that of a viewer only. The processing time of opening large files is also a disadvantage due to its limited functionality. Incorporating markups and comments is also limited up to some extent only for the application prioritizes viewing of DWG and RVT files only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Autodesk Viewer solving and how is that benefiting you? Autodesk solves compatibility issues, for I can access DWG, DWF and RVT files from my computer. I am no longer obliged to convert files, and sharing within the team has been more accessible than ever. Simultaneous collaboration within the project team is now possible due to real-time access incorporating user comments and markups. From a construction perspective, the survey implementation by the line and grade became more accurate, and errors due to incorrect or un-updated drawings decreased over my past projects through the support of Autodesk Viewer. If you don't have the source software, you can view a given file using the Autodesk Viewer. I have often been emailed files where I know what the attachment is supposed to be, but I don't know what the file extension is supposed to open. I can quickly upload the file using the free online viewer, and it'll show me the 2D and 3D views within minutes, right from the browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Autodesk Viewer? Files "expire" after 30 days because the solution is intended for design collaboration. So designs are expected to change anyway so old files can be removed.
