"AutoCAD: Highly Effective but Needs Web Version Improvements"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

I appreciate AutoCAD's feature that integrates direct input, which simplifies the design process by allowing the use of a mouse, keyboard, and a few button presses without needing coding or specifying points and angles. This integration contributes greatly to the software's ease of use. Moreover, AutoCAD's ability to convey all my design needs helped me achieve excellent project results, which is crucial for my studies and hackathons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

I sometimes experience significant lag with AutoCAD that requires me to restart my PC to continue working. This compatibility issue is frustrating and interrupts my workflow. Furthermore, I feel that the software is quite large and seems to rely on older technology, which could be updated to increase efficiency and compatibility. Additionally, the web version of AutoCAD needs substantial improvement, as there are many features missing and it contains several bugs. This version seems suitable for users with lower compatibility needs, but its limitations make it less effective for my purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Design Tool with a Steep Learning Curve"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

AutoCAD is an excellent tool for designing machines and is especially helpful for engineering students. I appreciate AutoCAD mainly for its precision and professional standards. It enables me to create highly accurate drawings with exact dimensions, which deepens my understanding of how real-world designs are developed. I also value the fact that AutoCAD is widely used in the industry, making the time I spend learning it feel like a worthwhile investment for my future career. Additionally, features like layers, blocks, and shortcuts make drafting much faster once I become familiar with them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

One aspect I find challenging about AutoCAD is its steep learning curve, especially for beginners. In the beginning, trying to remember all the commands and shortcuts can be quite confusing. The software also tends to use a lot of system resources, which means it can lag on computers with lower specifications. On top of that, even minor errors, such as selecting the wrong units or layers, can impact the whole drawing. As an intern, this can be particularly frustrating.
