"Understands the Whole Codebase—Indexes Everything Like a Teammate"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Augment Code?

What I like best is that it actually understands my whole codebase, not just the open file. It indexes everything — code, docs, history — so when I change one thing, it flags every related spot: constructors, queries, endpoints, tests. Same context follows across IDE, CLI, and GitHub reviews. Feels like a teammate, not autocomplete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Augment Code?

Biggest gripe: it sometimes gets overambitious and changes more than I asked for — redesigning a component when I just wanted one fix, so I have to double-check diffs carefully. Intent (the desktop workspace) is Mac-only for now, no Windows/Linux. Pricing climbs fast with heavy usage, and agentic workflows can feel slow on bigger, multi-step tasks. "Unique Context Engine Delivers Precise Inline Completions Across Multi-Repo Infrastructure"
4/5
What do you like best about Augment Code?

It has a unique Context Engine that indexes all of our multi-repo infrastructure instead of analyzing open files separately. It offers precise inline completions that fit our internal architecture, variable names, and types without any long prompts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Augment Code?

The initial indexing of the workspace in huge monorepos can take several minutes upon project opening. Also, since the live context analysis is done using cloud computing, there may be some latency while showing completions in high ping/unstable networks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Strong Copilot Alternative: Great Context-Aware Code Suggestions in VS Code"
4/5
What do you like best about Augment Code?

Since I come from a software engineering background, I first came across it when GitHub Copilot restructured their plans. It felt like a great alternative. I initially set it up just to try the free credits, and it turned out to be totally worth it. It’s really good at reading context, giving code suggestions, and helping with planning and thinking through things. I genuinely liked it, and it ended up being a strong alternative for me. I used it with VS Code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Augment Code?

There’s no specific thing I dislike about Augment. My concern is more general with AI agents: they can sometimes hallucinate when working within a context window, and the larger the context, the higher the chances of hallucinations. That’s not something unique to Augment.

That said, I’d really love it if they could adjust their pricing plans for individuals. I’m on the business plan, and it’s great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing Codebase Context, but Credits and Ticket-Based Support Can Feel Limiting"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Augment Code?

The context is really amazing. In contrast to a simple AI autocomplete function, it creates an index of all of your multi-repo architecture and understands how your microvaves and dependencies work. The extension works great without any delays for VS Code and JetBrains. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Augment Code?

The credit system feels a bit restrictive when you run heavy multi-file refactoring tasks back-to-back. Also, support is mostly ticket-based on standard plans, so you won't get instant live help if you run into edge-case bugs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Deep Code Understanding That Makes Smart Changes"
4/5
What do you like best about Augment Code?

What I like best is its deep understanding of code. It doesn’t just understand the code; it also knows how to make changes based on it, instead of only suggesting things to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Augment Code?

The pricing is a bit high, especially since there isn’t any free version to try first. For small tasks, it also feels like overkill. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing Context Engine for Multi-Repo Code, But Pricing and Support Need Attention"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Augment Code?

The context engine is really amazing. In contrast to a simple AI autocomplete function, it creates an index of all of your multi-repo architecture and understands how your microservices and dependencies work. The extension works great without any delays for VS Code and JetBrains. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Augment Code?

The usage pricing and token credit limit require active monitoring if you are running multi-agent tasks all day. Additionally, support in standard tiers relies on ticket portals rather than instant live assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure, Easy to Coach, and Great at Business Context."
4/5
What do you like best about Augment Code?

not worried about any security implications, easy to use and coach, output tone is not annoying the way claude can be. easy to wire up to github and is good at gathering broader context within our own business Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Augment Code?

it feels like tokens go faster than other options and I do sometimes have to rein in the output and make sure it is concise Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Game-Changer for Customer Care Reporting with Zendesk"
5/5
What do you like best about Augment Code?

This has been a game-changer for reporting. I am a manager of the customer care team, and with the connection to Zendesk, Auggie was able to help me analyze the data in bulk. Not only is it able to give me a mass report that would have taken me months, it also did so quickly. This is an AI tool that has changed the game, especially for customer care. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Augment Code?

I found it quite difficult to set up in my terminal. I wish there was more guides or explanations how one can do this on their own. For someone not as tech-savvy as myself, the interface was pretty dense and I needed to lean on my engineers for assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
