Setup didn't take long, and the UI is clean enough that I didn't have to hunt around to figure out where things are. The ACE context engine is outstanding, and its awareness is genuinely impressive. What I liked best about it was that there was a user interface in Visual Studio Code, which made it easy to use. It worked really well, really quickly, and had all of the features that I needed. **What do you dislike about Augment Code?** Ultimately, I didn't like the direction that the company chose to go in. I was really happy with the product it first launched with. It had auto-complete for code, and it had a really good AI interface that you could link with Claude, which worked really well. They then sent an email around saying they were targeting an audience who didn't write any of their own code, and they were focusing on people who wanted the AI to write their entire codebase. It felt like a great alternative. I initially set it up just to try the free credits, and it turned out to be totally worth it. It’s really good at reading context, giving code suggestions, and helping with planning and thinking through things. I genuinely liked it, and it ended up being a strong alternative for me. I used it with VS Code. **What do you dislike about Augment Code?** There’s no specific thing I dislike about Augment. My concern is more general with AI agents: they can sometimes hallucinate when working within a context window, and the larger the context, the higher the chances of hallucinations. That’s not something unique to Augment. That said, I’d really love it if they could adjust their pricing plans for individuals.
