And how easy it is to change just the color of the materials. **What do you dislike about Artlantis?** I really don't like how Artlantis is a stand-alone program. I know it's interconnectivity has improved over the years, but I don't like having to save my ArchiCAD model, open Artlantis, load the ArchiCAD model in Atlantis and then manipulate the materials, scenery, etc. I'd really prefer that the workflow was all inside of ArchiCAD, so I don't waste time opening, and updating in a whole different application **Recommendations to others considering Artlantis:** Really put the trial version of the software through serious testing. Use it on an existing project (not a theoretical one) at various stages of project completion. That way, you'll get to know just how usable or unusable it is, and how much time it takes away from just using the embedded rendering tools inside of ArchiCAD. **What problems is Artlantis solving and how is that benefiting you?** We haven't realized many benefits with Artlantis because it's a stand-alone program. It's usefulness is directly related to the fact that you need to have a different and separate program (Artlanits) to make our models' presentation worthwhile. ### 7. It crashes more than I'd like, and ideally, I'd like it to crash never. **What problems is Artlantis solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work freelance within a real estate industry, and this program helps me with renderings. Batch rendering is a huge benefit this program offers. The system makes it so simple to cue up several views to render later on. Once you have everything ready, it can literally run it overnight. It really takes the tediousness of this task out of the equation completely. ### 9. You were able to make very realistic images, make your own materials out of images fairly easy and also import objects and materials that were available online. It gave a wide range of settings for renderings and it would render in about 5 minutes. **What do you dislike about Artlantis?** I disliked when the office took another license and upgraded to Artlantis 5 with no turning back... they started implementing a paid material and object STORE. Extremely expensive in my opinion and somehow the materials and objects we had in Artlantis 4 were no longer compatible... **Recommendations to others considering Artlantis:** I would recommend people to start with a demo of both Artlantis 4 and 5 to look at their differences and see what would work best for their business or intentions. I think Artlantis 5 took a little longer to render than 4... **What problems is Artlantis solving and how is that benefiting you?** It was very helpful that once you had an Artlantis file setup with the cameras and materialities and objects you were able to use this with any changes you made to the main model. This allowed the company to show clients multiple renditions and color ranges of the houses instantaneously. Very helpful in decision making and productivity. ### 14. It is possible to get very fast renderings with good quality. The Batch companion is very useful - You can "Render later" lots of scenes in the same time, while working on other stuff, or sleeping, without the need to hit the render button for each scene. And it is possible to save scenes directly to a photoshop file, witch saves time for post-processing. **What do you dislike about Artlantis?** It is kind of hard to edit the material shaders, and, if you find something wrong or have to do adjustments in the model structure, you have to do the whole export/import process between the modelling software and artlantis, though you can retain material, scenes an other stuffs settings. **Recommendations to others considering Artlantis:** One has to do their homework - You get better results when the imported model is well organised and detailed. **What problems is Artlantis solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it for more realistic presentations of architectural designs. With it I get good results fast with accurate lighting properties. ### 15.
