The tool is well structured and has the capability for using add-ons for collaboration and more. **What do you dislike about Archi?** In order to output documents in the format you want/like, or with customized company look and feel, you really only have one option: you need to prepare a jasper reports template. Output to markdown would be great... **Recommendations to others considering Archi:** Look at the Archimate specification first, and learn how to use/apply it. Don't just start using Archi, as the real value is there only when you follow the specification properly. **What problems is Archi solving and how is that benefiting you?** Archi helps us clarify business; application and systems architecture to stakeholders, developers and other team members. It is a great tool for analyzing and clarifying the impact of changes to your existing architecture. ### 2. Archi is free, cross-platform and easy to use **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Juan C. | Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2020 **What do you like best about Archi?** - Easy to use. - You can export the projects to XML. - It has a plugin to export to Excel. - It is completely free. - It is compatible with different operating systems, for example, Windows, Linux or macOS. - Archi includes examples or suggestions, to know the concept of some components. - It has an extension for the collaboration, which has the name "coArchi". **What do you dislike about Archi?** I wish it had a more intuitive directory as sometimes I get lost when I have diagrams in different folders. **Recommendations to others considering Archi:** Archi is completely free and easy to use. Of course I would recommend its use. **What problems is Archi solving and how is that benefiting you?** Archi is a fundamental tool in my work. With this software I can create models at all levels, for example, business, technology or strategy. Previously, I had to draw the diagrams on a paper, which took much of the time out of projects. Also, it allows me to import the projects into XML in case any client or colleague does not have Archimate installed, so that they can also view the projects. ### 4. An easy to use and standard way to create high level solution designs **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Jackquelyn I. | Solutions Architect, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2019 **What do you like best about Archi?** Archi is TOGAF compliant, therefore any user (Solution Architects, Developers, Etc) with a good background, understanding and experience in using it can definitely understand and grasp the information or details on a certain project. The tool is also user friendly where every domain of the business has its own dedicated set of symbols/objects and relationships for which the user can reuse and just drag and drop on the current view they are working on. One more thing I like about Archi is its ability to retain and automatically suggest/recognize the relationship the user set between objects. This saves a lot of time and makes the data consistent across all the views in your model. **What do you dislike about Archi?** One thing that I dislike is the unability to filter the unused objects. To be able to clean up your work, you need to check the model hierarchy window first and check for all italized objects and remove them one by one. If you don't have a good eyesight, this will take your time and can also be prone to mistakes. **Recommendations to others considering Archi:** Archi is a highly recommended modelling tool specially for architects creating their high level solution design as it offers standard concepts and symbols that help eliminate misunderstanding across enterprise users/stakeholders. **What problems is Archi solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used Archi during High Level Solution Design phase of different projects I am involved. It benefited me by using the tool to created high level design diagrams to be presented to different project stakeholders and discuss application impacts across the enterprise. ### 5. So, unless one knows what exactly one wants to do **Recommendations to others considering Archi:** If you are using or intend to use TOGAF or other modeling notations, you should check Archi out. It is feature rich, and as a free tool - nothing to beat it! **What problems is Archi solving and how is that benefiting you?** capturing business processes, identifying the underlying data structures ### 6.
