## About Apitally
Apitally is an API monitoring and analytics tool that helps engineering teams understand API usage, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues. It was created by Simon Gurcke, a software engineer based in Australia, and first released in November 2023. Apitally is bootstrapped and independently run, with a focus on building a simple, opinionated product for small teams. Apitally integrates with applications through lightweight, open-source SDKs that work as middleware. Setup requires adding a few lines of code to an existing project, with no additional infrastructure or agents needed. Data appears on the dashboard within seconds of deployment. Key features include: - Pre-built dashboards for API traffic, errors, performance, and consumer activity, with endpoint-level and consumer-level breakdowns - Request logs with correlated application logs and traces for debugging individual requests - Custom alerts on 14+ API metrics, with notifications via email, Slack, and Microsoft Teams - Uptime monitoring via automatic heartbeat checks and optional HTTP health checks - Open-source SDKs for 20+ frameworks across Python, Node.js, Go, .NET, and Java Apitally is designed for small engineering teams, startup founders, and solo developers who need API monitoring without the complexity of enterprise observability tools. Dashboards are opinionated and pre-built, so there are no blank canvases to configure. The scope is intentionally focused on API monitoring rather than general infrastructure monitoring, with support for frameworks like FastAPI, Django, Express, NestJS, and ASP.NET Core, among others. Pricing is predictable and not usage-based. There is no limit on the number of API requests processed for metrics and analytics.

## Apitally Reviews
  ### 1. Effortlessly Streamlined API Monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jakob d. | Data and Product Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Apitally?**

Apitally is an absolute joy to use. The interface is so streamlined and intuitive I'm jealous I've never managed to come up with something that great. It gives me just the simple per-consumer/per-endpoint metrics overview I need for a morning glance without sacrificing the ability to do deep dives when necessary. The built-in uptime and Apdex/error alerts are incredibly useful, too. We switched from our own hot mess of ELK/Prometheus/Grafana after getting tired of wasting hours into building dashboards that never turned out quite right, and were instantly delighted with what we found in Apitally after adding a mere five lines of code to our backend (yes, that's the whole setup). I also want to point out how impressed I am with Simon's support, who implemented a feature within hours after we requested it on the public SDK repo.

**What do you dislike about Apitally?**

Honestly, I can't think of anything.

**What problems is Apitally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Apitally for API monitoring, getting both dev and usage observability without needing a big setup. The intuitive interface and built-in alerts let us quickly check API and customer statuses without having to roll our own stack and dashboards.

  ### 2. Easy Setup, Rich Features, and Useful for the Whole Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashar N. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Apitally?**

Apitally is incredibly easy to set up and get working. It has a rich feature set while staying lean and simple to use, and even provides value to non technical members of our team when we're trying to investigate issues in our product.

**What do you dislike about Apitally?**

Apitally lacks an easy and flexible query pattern to pull and visualize data. It also doesn't lean into AI tooling as much. An MCP server could unlock tons of features for Apitally, both internally and externally.

**What problems is Apitally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apitally helps us get granular insights into our APIs, from performance metrics to traffic patterns as well as request logs. Being able to group requests by individual consumers is an immense level-up when investigating customer complaints or debugging common errors. Alerts provides a low touch way to notify engineering when our systems aren't behaving as expected.

  ### 3. Effortless API Monitoring with neat UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Apitally?**

I use Apitally to make sure my API is running smoothly and to keep an eye on how it's being used. It's also really helpful for logging errors when I need to debug something. What I like most is how easy it is to get started. Their library works straght out of the box with my python (fastapi) framework, so the whole integration took me less than 10 minutes. Honestly building something like this myself would have taken a lot of time and I doubt I would have ended up with such a clean UI. The real-time monitoring is great, and the interface is simple and intuitive. I can easily filter by time or by endpoint, which makes it super quick to spot errors and understand what's going on. Having response times per endpoint is also really useful when I want to improve performance. On top of that, the princing feels fair for what you get. Overall, APitally covers everything I need and I'm genuinely vers happy with it!

**What do you dislike about Apitally?**

Honestly, I fined everything I need in Apitally, so there's nothing in particular to point out here.

**What problems is Apitally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Apitally to ensure my API functions correctly, monitor usage metrics, and log errors for debugging. It integrates seamlessly with my framework, facilitating quick setup and effective real-time monitoring. The user-friendly UI and filters for error tracking and performance analysis enhance my workflow.

  ### 4. Exceptional API Tracking with Easy Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Apitally?**

I like that Simon is very responsive and has created API endpoints for us on request. The platform is easy to understand and integrate, which is great because it doesn't try to do too much. I also appreciate that the middleware is easy to install and works natively with FastAPI. It's a bonus that the product continues to improve.

**What do you dislike about Apitally?**

I find the Linear and n8n integration a bit lacking. There are a few things that could be easier, but the API is good enough that we don't really need the native integrations.

**What problems is Apitally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Apitally to track API usage, discover errors, and support customer success. It offers an interface to check user API usage and highlights malformed requests.

  ### 5. Easy Setup with Extensive Monitoring for Application Traffic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Apitally?**

Easy to setup and get extensive monitoring capabilities on top of application traffic. Quick support whenever required from Apitally team.

**What do you dislike about Apitally?**

Not a dislike, but would love to have functionality to integrate in serverless stack like lambda etc.

**What problems is Apitally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitor and set alerts for the application traffic
