These allow us to intercept both at the request and response stages, which is very useful. From a business perspective, I also find it more cost-effective compared to Kong, which is another strong tool in the market. The user interface is well-designed, making it accessible for anyone to use after a few days of training. Another advantage is that the configuration of the Proxy Endpoint and Target Endpoint is handled separately, unlike in Kong. Additionally, the Key Value Map (KVM) feature is helpful for securely storing credentials and retrieving them at runtime when needed. Tracing is best feature in Apigee. **What do you dislike about Apigee API Management?** 1. The developer portal for Apigee does not feel fully mature. 2. When creating a new revision of an API proxy, the deployment process in the environment often takes too long. 3. Even minor policy changes can sometimes result in lengthy deployment times. **What problems is Apigee API Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** Apigee allows us to manage and secure all our APIs in a single location, which saves us significant time and reduces manual effort. We frequently use the Key Value Map (KVM) feature to store configuration values and credentials, so nothing is hardcoded within policies. This makes it much easier for us to manage different environments efficiently. The Tracing feature is extremely useful for quickly debugging issues, especially in production when something goes wrong. Shared flows are also a great asset in our setup—we rely on them to reuse common logic such as authentication checks and logging across multiple APIs, which helps us avoid duplicating work. Since we are on Google Cloud, integration with other GCP services is seamless. Apigee also handles traffic spikes effectively, and with policies like quota and spike arrest, we can manage these situations with ease. ### 2. The thing I appreciate the most is how stable and dependable it is, especially when our traffic spikes. 2. It feels like a solid wall managing all the API calls, so I don't have to worry about security or things breaking down. 3. I also love the analytics dashboard; it’s super clear and easy to see who is using our stuff, which helps us figure out what to build next. 4. It takes away a lot of the headache of managing thousands of connections. 5. Customer support is also very good they are eager to help. 6. Documentation is also very defined. 7. We can easily integrate it with APIOps. 8. We can integration it with different IDP for security purposes. 9. We can use developer portal as well and we can create our custom portal as per our dependency. **What do you dislike about Apigee API Management?** It’s a powerful tool, but honestly, it can feel like learning how to fly a spaceship when we first start. It definitely has a steep learning curve, and getting simple things set up sometimes takes too many steps. Also, for smaller projects or teams, the cost can feel a bit high compared to some simpler options out there. It’s worth it for the scale, but the initial setup and complexity could be simpler. **What problems is Apigee API Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** The huge benefit to me is peace of mind and speed to be very honest. I don't spend my weekends worrying about if some new partner integration is going to bring the whole platform down. It handles the boring, repetitive, but essential stuff, security, quota, spike arrest, monitoring so my team and I can focus 100% on building new, cool features for our customers instead of just worrying about it all the time. ### 3. The way in which we can control the Policies flow, be it in Client to Apigee and Apigee to backend. 2.The KVM and Tracing tool/Debugger of Apigee is outstanding and something which makes it better then the rest. 3. The Service callout policy is one of the best feature of Apigee. 4. The Integration with GCP is something to add on too. 5.
