I like Claude Code’s role-based features because I can set strict rules and integrate it with a repository. I especially like keeping the code, decisions, and rules in one place so I can iterate on them. I can have short conversations about specific topics without using too many tokens on long conversations. It’s cloud-based, so I can run code changes on a repository without using my machine, and I can walk away while it keeps working. It helps me iterate and develop quickly, including in codebases I haven’t worked in before, without having to learn the whole codebase or language from scratch. It’s way better at writing code than GitHub Copilot, and the initial setup was very easy: I just integrated it with the repository, asked it to read the code, and started working on features. I find that Claude Code uses more credits and tokens than regular Claude chat, even though I think it kind of does the same thing, and I’m not sure why it needs more. I’d prefer the cost to be standardized across features instead of making one more expensive than another. The cost can also be a little prohibitive for some of my friends.
