The ease of use to just provision the service, and focus on your code. The implementation is very easy. You can enable a number of features and extensions with just one click. There are many plus points but for the negative side, you can consider the costing and some other very low side dislike points like when you are using the networking, you should be able to have proper idea of networking etc. The update sometimes also takes high time. It has been 3 years of using the RDS Service, the best feature which I like is the autoscaling without any operational overhead. As the traffic increases service will scale up and then become lower once traffic slows, by this way the costing is pay as you go. Costing is somehow complex and expensive. Also, sometimes when a large number of traffic is on the server and performing continuous querying with the Database will not give the point to autoscale that hand traffic due to which server gone away error will face. What I have come as a dislike part of AWS RDS from client side is that they are complaining against the cost. Next thing is the time when the service is getting on update and you cannot modify. Aurora clusters is the most powerful feature, Restore to point in time, everything is managed, global clusters feature. It is easy to create a database for the system. It is a good choice to use for daily and production. Aurora clusters are easy to integrate with proxy, Redshift, and zero-ETL, and DMS. Click and store data, it is easy to implement a new database; all options are available from simple development databases to very complex solutions that suit ISO and SOC certificates. Upgrading from Aurora2 to Aurora3 was very bad, minor version upgrade in Aurora3 causes downtime and restarting loop, Aurora3 has many bugs, but in general still good service. It is not easy to directly major version upgrade with no downtime. First line of support is bad from AWS in general, but all good after escalating the case with the account manager. It is easy to use, you don't need to manage and maintain the resource; you only need to focus on updating the version, and it is faster to provision and easy to integrate. Also, you have different types of SQL services, like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server, and Aurora, which has good performance.
