The best thing about RDS is it a managed services, It provide MultiAZ feature.Also good security.It supports multiple database engines like PostgreSql, MariaDB, oracle.it is quite easy to use and connect it to my code. It is expensive, also I feel it gets complicated while movng data from private RDS from one aws account and region to another AWS account and region. One thing I dislike about the the RDS is most of the time the DB is in private subnet and for samll query runing or tables checking etc I need to connect DB using bastion host and then check.
