EKS eases the work of handling and doing production-ready managed services. The most benefit of running EKS is that it provides highly portable and allows DevOps teams to focus on application functionality over environmental configuration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are two options to manage applications via EKS one of them is EC2 based which is quite lengthy and complex to understand. The other option via Serverless Fargate is costly, so it kind of doesn't make sense to use EKS via serverless. The EKS community is still lesser, once we see more users moving to kubernetes and EKS, the complexity would reduce and we might see it being used by beginners as well. Its very handy. Use of kubernet clusters becomes easy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Price is bit high as compared to other cloud services Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Provides flexibility to integrate multiple AWS services with EKS, upgrades can be done easily. Applications running on EKS can be mapped with AWS load balancers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Certain version upgrades in EKS changed the api definitions which can lead to incompatibility with running applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Availability of the service is high & you don't need to worry about so many components as master is managed by AWS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would say, nothing as of now because it is giving all flexibility with master. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Easy to install and configure
- Less operational work

- You don't need to manage master node Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are not many dislikes, but i can tell EKS does not have an auto-update feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part of elastic Kubernetes services is target group binding is a custom resource that can expose your containers or pods in the cluster to the application load balancer target group or network load balancer target group Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I personally faced these issue many times that pods in the cluster were unable to connect to the elastic Kubernetes cluster master due to a network problem and this caused termination of pods in the cluster Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't like the new interface of Ec2 dashboard, but if new user can love it because they didn't use before Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amazon EKS is one of the best products from AWS. I have been using this for almost 6 yrs. It provides a stable solution, infinite scaling, and the latest Kubernetes version. EKS allows you to create, manage Kubernetes clusters with a click of a button. EKS is well integrated with other Amazon products/ services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amazon EKS is well integrated, but you will need eks CLI to manage or monitor your cluster. For a newbie without much hands-on on the CLI, it can be overwhelming. I used GCP, which will nicely show every Kubernetes resource in the browser. Istio and other vital libraries have to be installed manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think there is no point to downside of the Amazon eks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
