What I like most about Aiven for Kafka is how easy it makes everything. Setting up a Kafka cluster used to be a headache - dealing with brokers, zookeepers, monitoring, and all the tuning. With Aiven, it's literally just a few clicks and you're up and running. It's reliable, secure, and takes care of all the messy backend stuff so we can focus on our actual use cases.
The built-in integrations (like Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and monitoring with Grafana/Prometheus) make it really convenient. The high availability setup and encryption are on by default, which gives peace of mind for production workloads. And any time we’ve needed help, their support team has been quick and helpful. There are a couple of things that could be better. First, some advanced Kafka configurations are locked down, you can’t tweak everything like you would with a self-managed setup. That’s probably intentional, but sometimes it limits flexibility.
Second, cost visibility isn’t super granular. It would be nice to see detailed cost breakdowns by topic or consumer group to help manage expenses better. And lastly, the UI could be a bit more intuitive for new users, some parts aren’t the most beginner-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
