Its not possible to select multiple lines as much copy and paste them. **What problems is AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** The goal with this product is to make possible multiple users see the same scenario results online. ### 2. Efficient interaction with a variety of solvers. From a development perspective, the integrated GUI allows for easy evaluation of model output and troubleshooting. **What do you dislike about AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform?** The language is not intuitive; it takes awhile to get up to speed, and you have to be creative with workarounds. **Recommendations to others considering AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform:** I highly recommend this product. I've found it flexible enough to handle a wide variety of problems (of course, licenses to many of the solvers must be purchased separately), and the integrated GUI makes it easy to audit. **What problems is AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Used its constraint programming functionality for inventory routing and scheduling. Currently collaborating with another team on a production planning model, and the use of libraries and the data integration features are making the process much easier than it otherwise would have been. ### 4. This eventually will result in improving balancing demand and supply including our inventory position. The tool built in AIMMS is used friendly and custom made to our requirements. Still some modifications will be made during further implementation of S&OP on a global level. **What do you dislike about AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform?** Building and maintaining the tool is a specialized activity and therefore we outsourced this to Ortec (as a partner of AIMMS.) Although Ortec did an excellent job with building the tool, it needed more than anticipated resources for supporting this including testing. **What problems is AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** With the AIMMS S&OP tool we have better information to make business decisions within our global supply chain including the alignment of our sales subsidiaries and other disciplines like sales, manufacturing and finance. ### 5. Integration with things like Excel is also excellent. **What do you dislike about AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform?** AIMMS is great for development and I think we produce very nice software. The run-time portion of AIMMS is quite expensive, though, so we can't use it for all clients. **Recommendations to others considering AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform:** AIMMS is a great development tool and the code written is very efficient and easy to maintain. The structure can seem a bit restrictive when transferring from something like GAMS, but after a short while the structure makes sense and you would miss it if going back. AIMMS seems a bit expensive for smaller applications - we can only use it for large customers who are going to get a big pay-off. **What problems is AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We solve all kinds of mathematical problems. We are currently solving warehousing, transportation, coal exporting and oil field development problems. ### 7. Also the capacity of the software to connect to external data sources for reading and writing, that allows to easy load big amounts of data. The results can be shown in a very different and useful ways, which is very interesting to detect important key points and options. **What do you dislike about AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform?** It is mainly thought to run in batch mode, not in continuous mode, it is necessary to program special code, it also needs to run in foreground and the code can be visible. It would be nice to be able to compile the project to be used by third people, not only with AIMMS PRO. It would be nice to have other communication protocols, like OPC. For small business, it is not easy to use since AIMMS PRO is not necessary and may be so expensive. A different way to share a license, like a dongle or similar may also be interesting for small projects. **Recommendations to others considering AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform:** I is a very friendly application where you do not really need programming skills to solve not so complex problems. Once you have a very difficult problem, you have many options to program it starting from scratch or using parts of other projects with not so much programming knowledge. **What problems is AIMMS Prescriptive Analytics Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Production optimization, demand and supply planning, logistics, distribution, simulation. We have mainly found benefits on operations where we have found new more efficient run possibilities which have provide the opportunity to sometimes justify new investments in our production plants. ### 8.
