Even quicker if you are running it inside a docker container or as part of your database docker stack. **What do you dislike about Adminer?** Takes a little bit of navigating to work your way around it when coming from myphpadmin.The GUI is a bit lighter which can be good or bad depending on if you like things to "look nice". **What problems is Adminer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Adminer helps to manage my websites database as well as the databases of development and staging websites. Functions as an easy to access interface for my databases, to create new ones, manage database users, etc. ### 2. No need for installation you should just upload the PHP file to the web location. **What do you dislike about Adminer?** The design is a bit outdated and not very nice, but that's not a priority for me. **What problems is Adminer solving and how is that benefiting you?** I managed to edit the database on a website for which I only had FTP access and in that case I had no other solution. ### 3. I have been using adminer from last 4 years and found it comprehensive which fulfills all my needs related to mysql management without any headache. Its' very easy to install and simple to use in day to day task for anyone whether it is Developer/DBM or Devops. Its GUI is highly efficient and user friendly and easy to navigate which is admirable. This application is having almost all required functionalities. **What do you dislike about Adminer?** Sometimes while changing database, it takes time. Multi-host management and data synchronization feature are missing from it which should also be provided. **Recommendations to others considering Adminer:** Anyone using mysql db can use phpmyadmin. This is very lightweight and error free which makes your life easy. For these instances, I can write a manual question in SQL, but it seems that a simple button might be enough. The GUI makes previous sense and could use a better style for simpler navigation. Now it is not immediately intuitive for the consumer. For my daily use, this works just excellently and there is nothing I dislike. **What problems is Adminer solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's easy to use. Basic authorization maintenance. Administrator is not an option. Right, because I haven't worked with phpMyAdmin for over 10 years. ### 5. This is while Adminer is useful, unlike PMA, now it doesn't need configuration and is contained in a single PHP file, and still offers something you need: exports, imports, searches, queries, database operations, basically everything. ### 6. It's quick and hassle free, and also has dynamic qualities and is lightweight so can be installed anywhere anytime like a portable PHP script. ### 8. Even if it's contained in a single page, it can be easily compared to other famous tools like PHPMyAdmin and it wins in many points: smart autocomplete when creating tables, persistent and multiple login sessions, easy export functionalities and a much more concise graphical interface. Also, the setup is the simplest thing ever: you just have to put the script in a folder and you are done! **What do you dislike about Adminer?** For my tipical usage, I can't find big problems in this tool. It really does it job and it does it well. Maybe it lacks a way to customize the GUI and to organize the view for personal needs, not just the ability to change the CSS. **Recommendations to others considering Adminer:** If you are looking for a minimal DBMS with interesting features, just go for Adminer. **What problems is Adminer solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm using it to maintain a big database for a mobile application. I never felt the need of a bigger DBMS like PHPMyAdmin... Adminer has everything I need! ### 9. Encoding parameters in the URL means you can refresh the page. Best of all, it's in active development and hasn't been abandoned yet. **What do you dislike about Adminer?** Some features that seem like they should be obvious are missing. For instance, I cannot TRUNCATE a table through the web interface, nor is there an option for CASCADEing. For these cases, I can write a manual SQL query, but seems like a simple button would suffice. I've also noticed that my search_path isn't set correctly when executing SQL queries. If I want the search_path to be set, I have to add "SET search_path TO my,search,path;" at the top of every SQL query. **What problems is Adminer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Administrating local and remote PostgreSQL databases. ### 10. Also great thing in Adminer that it is just a simple php-script that you could upload to your server do what you need and remove to for security reasons. **What do you dislike about Adminer?** Can't say that I dislike something, but there is a way to improve Adminer. For example, Make custom query to DB and have all usuall ability to check multiple records to modify or delete. Also want the ability to move columns to get a better view of my data. **Recommendations to others considering Adminer:** Don't think. Just give it a try and you will never return to your previous tool. Adminer is not an option. **What problems is Adminer solving and how is that benefiting you?** First is security. I don't need to install phpMyAdmin and pray that no one will hack it. Second is speed brought by simplicity. ### 11. All functions, needed to me. It's great, that i should not setup any soft on server, configure web server (apache. nginx, etc ). If you don't have any right for doing this things - adminer helps. In one project i haven't got any access to db : console/open ports or phpmyadmin. And i just copy adminer on server and run it. It fix small bugs, which makes a lot of bad thinks and company lose moneys. ### 12. This is when Adminer comes in handy, unlike PMA it does not need a setup and is contained in one single PHP file, yet still offers anything you need - exports, imports, searches, queries, DB operations, basically everything. ### 13. Adminer is it. Clear UI, works fast, nicely updated and good selection of DBs. I've used it for over a year without problem against MySQL and Postgres. **What do you dislike about Adminer?** The table list view always computes stats which can take a while for big table lists, or tables with big data. **What problems is Adminer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quickly viewing raw data across systems.
