What do you like best about Actifio?

Actifio is considered one of the best data management solutions due to several key factors:

Simplified Data Management: its easier to manage, protect, and use data across multiple systems and platforms.

Better Data Protection: Good data protection, including backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities. This helps organizations minimize the risk of data loss or downtime, and ensures that critical data is always available when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Actifio?

One small drawback I observed was that even though they are good on every front, they have limited functionalities, especially in data recovery and protection, but I believe these will change as they grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A cloud-based information management software for business."
5/5
What do you like best about Actifio?

Actifio has accomplished for information management what virtualization accomplished for server management. In one machine, it handles all data support. There are zero downtime backups with various SLAs based on needs managed automatically. More importantly, any of those backups, including databases and server images, can be mounted instantly from the Actifio console and available for use on any server. It can even mask PII on backups so they can be mounted by development for testing. Furthermore, what is really nice is that all of this happens from a single interface dashboard. Additionally, they have excellent customer service. They take responsibility for all upgrades and "phone home" notifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Actifio?

There currently isn't an Active Directory block-level backup feature. Keeping up with the most common backup source types will be crucial for Actifio to become a single product covering all of the organization's backup and restoration requirements. There is a limitation of 2 TB/LUNs if you put the Actifio in-band instead of side-band. The main reason to do this is if you need Actifio to do block-level replication between sites. If you select sideband and use mirroring for the unstructured data that required constant synchronization between sites. Also, the software may appear really expensive to many clients. Moreover, the software is slow in run time because of the large size. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cleaning infrastructure through copy data management"
5/5
What do you like best about Actifio?

The consolidation of existing backup/recovery services to a single platform has been our favorite part of deploying Actifio. Also, the single pane of glass for our copy data has made administration a breeze. We've been able to rapidly reduce our tape footprint and drop our RTO/RPO for disk recovery down to minutes instead of hours or days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Actifio?

There currently isn't an Active Directory brick-level backup feature. Because we can't perform our AD backups (system-state) we have to maintain a piece of our legacy backup infrastructure. Keeping up with the most common backup source-types is going to be critical for Actifio to become a single product covering all of a companies backup and restoration needs. "Simplifying data management, protection, and de-duplication"
5/5
What do you like best about Actifio?

Actifio has done for data management what virtualization did for server management. In one appliance, it manages all our data maintenance. We have zero downtime backups with different SLAs for based on our needs all managed automatically. More importantly, any one of those backups, including databases and server images, can be mounted instantly from the Actifio console and available for use on any server. It can even mask PII on backups so they can be mounted by development for testing. Multiple developers can mount the same backup and it acts their own private copy without taking up valuable SAN storage.

Actifio also replicates our environment to our disaster site and has the ability to bring our disaster site on line with a single click based on a rule set we customize. And it brings servers on line within in a minute or 2, not 20 like many recovery software packages.

And what is really nice is that all of this happens from a single interface dashboard. Plus they have phenomenal customer support. They take responsibility for all upgrades, and "phone home" alerts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Actifio?

The only complaint I have ever had is that there is a limit of 2 TB / LUNs if you put the Actifio in-band instead of side-band. The only reason to do this is if you want Actifio to do block level replication between sites. We opted for sideband and used mirroring for the unstructured data that needed real-time synchronization between our two sites. Works great. But knowing Actifio and their continual innovation, they will probably solve this restriction as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
