**What do you like best about Uncat?**

I like that the product integrates with my accounting software. I also enjoy that all of our receipts are in one central location. Uncat reduces the processing time for receipt management.

**What do you dislike about Uncat?**

For the most part the product is performing quite well. The client side user interface seems to be a bit dated but it gets the job done.

**What problems is Uncat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before implementing Uncat, we would have a great deal of problems getting receipt detail information. Now that we use Uncat, we have a system in place that deals with uncategorized transactions, thus cutting our processing time.

**What do you like best about Uncat?**

I like that Uncat helps me chase clients to upload receipts and notifies them to make it easy to update QuickBooks with items we can’t easily allocate from the bank for bookkeeping. The notifications keep our clients organized and remind them to update or upload supporting documents. I appreciate Uncat's integrations with QuickBooks, which help push items that need allocation and manage bookkeeping more efficiently. The pricing is good too, which makes it even more valuable to us.

**What do you dislike about Uncat?**

Maybe they need some new AI features and a more modern interface. The interface looks dated.

**What problems is Uncat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Uncat to notify clients, simplifying QuickBooks updates by organizing bookkeeping tasks and chasing clients for receipts. It enhances communication and keeps clients organized.

**What do you like best about Uncat?**

I learned of this app almost a year ago and it's amazing. They have done an amazing job at knowing exactly what the pain points are for bookkeepers AND made an easy, great UI/UX app. They are continually making improvements and take customer response seriously. Our team saves so much time and sanity asking clients questions by using Uncat. It takes less than 5 minutes to connect a client and get them set up. We haven't needed to do any training with clients because the interface is that easy. Please make more accounting apps, preferably with cats pictured on them.

**What do you dislike about Uncat?**

I literally can't think of anything. It completes its goal that well.

**What problems is Uncat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever clients make purchases and we don't have enough information on them, we code them a certain way so that Uncat picks them up and presents them in an easy to navigate dashboard for the client. Even if the client knows how to work QuickBooks Online, this is nice to focus the client on the necessary questionable transactions. The most common way is by coding to Uncategorized accounts. But we can also filter all transactions without a Class or Job, a different specific account, etc. The client can fill in the description to give us more information on how to classify, or we can request they fill in the account, class or job information – or make this required! No more spreadsheets with outdated information. No more waiting for emails to go back and forth. All of it is real-time with the client and real-time sync with QBO.

**What do you like best about Uncat?**

The amount of time Uncat saves on a per client basis getting answers on unknown transactions has been amazing!  Our clients seem to love it as well since they dont have spreadsheets coming over per entity anymore. The client is able to see every entity in one spot and knock all unknown transactions out at one time.  The increase in productivity overall in our firm for the accounting team has been excellent and the clients seem to love the switch to Uncat instead of bulky spreadsheets being sent on a weekly basis.

**What do you dislike about Uncat?**

I wish the communication system was a little more involved.  Adding some reporting features would be very nice as well.  The last piece would be to evolve the cleanup side of Uncat as I am not sure how to best utilize Uncat for onboarding new cleanup clients and then during the cleanup.  I think there are a lot more features you could add to the cleanup side of the software.

**What problems is Uncat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Uncat is helping increase efficiency internally as we don't have to export bulky spreadsheets to clients and follow up on those weekly; everything is in one spot for all of our client's entities.  Also, it helps increase communication timeliness from clients with the use of automation notifications.  This benefits our firm overall with the increase in efficiency and productivity, but it also helps provide more value to our clients as they are spending less time on answering questions we have for them compared to the spreadsheets we were sending them on a weekly basis.

**What do you like best about Uncat?**

Uncat makes it very easy to communicate to clients which transactions need additional information to properly classify/tie out.  You designate an account in QBO where all such transactions will be categorized in and then Uncat automatically pulls them in.  One click to notify the client that their input is needed via an emailed link that requires no login credentials.

**What do you dislike about Uncat?**

I don't really have any dislikes about Uncat. It is a useful, inexpensive tool and does what it is supposed to do.

**What problems is Uncat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can be cumbersome to ask clients about specific transactions. Most clients don't want to log into Quickbooks to look at transactions, and most of their bookkeepers don't want them logging into QB either because entries can be changed too easily. Uncat provides a way for clients to provide the information we need without having to log in.

I like that I can get the uncategorized items sent weekly to my client for them to deal with no emails required. No downloading QB extracts, formatting, uploading to an email and waiting for them to ignore it!
It seems more accessible from the client side, too, as they don't have to log in to QB; just add some comments for me, and I automatically get notified when they are done.

**What do you dislike about Uncat?**

I'm not sure I like how split transactions work, but I hope that will improve.

Uncat is helping me communicate better with my clients. I don't have to write a formal email requesting their help - I just let Uncat send them a notification to check their dashboard.

Clients can easily see all of the transactions that I have questions about in one place. I no longer need to send multiple e-mails or spreadsheets.

Currently, you can't add tags to transactions from within Uncat. However, this is a feature they say they will be adding, so it's just a matter of time. I'm also waiting for them to add a feature that allows us to ask clients non-transaction questions. They say it is planned in future updates.

I no longer have to take screenshots or create spreadsheets to send to clients to ask questions about transactions.  It saves time as I no longer have to write lengthy explanations or questions.

Perhaps it can be more intuitive the platform (or have more snippets of information for clients to know what happens if they do not have the attachment., but overall still pretty good.

Get all the answers you need from your client quickly and easily, allowing you to reclass all uncategorized transactions in one shot.  Accountants and clients will love Uncat!

There isn't much to dislike about Uncat.  I've had no issues with the program every time I've used it.  The only thing I will say is that selecting the correct account could be a little bit more intuitive.

Uncat solves the waiting period between communications with your clients and receiving their responses.  Uncat sends out daily reminders that keep the accountants and clients updated.

Using UnCat is a great timesaver when it comes to sending standard expenses, asset, and income transactions that are unclear to the client for more information.

I wish UnCat provided the option to record uncategorized entries to product/service items for those clients relying on those items to keep their books in order.

Automatic email reminders are sent to our clients to notify them there are uncategorized transactions to review.

Some clients require the owner and their staff to make comments on transactions. Our team had to find a workaround for the email settings as we can't set up two admins.

Our team no longer has to email spreadsheets to the majority of our clients, nor follow up with them. Uncat pushes the initial notification and reminders for you.

Ease of use. Upside is the info being in one place, I can track status. Helps me follow up on open questions and requests. Much better than using email. I can stay on task.

As much as I liked it myself as an accountant, sometimes to is hard to get clients to use the system. It's almost like another barrier to getting answers. If a client can send an email to respond as an alternative than that works.

If is helping finish my work. I don't run the company or make purchases do sometimes I don't know where to categorize transactions. This helps me get clarification.

The client is fully aware of what needs to be done in order to complete their side of the work. Once we receive confirmation, It is already synced with QBO so there's nothing more to do than to hit approve.

No more emails back and forth.  Streamlines the process of obtaining answers to transctions from your clients.  Saves so much time which has allowed me to take on new clients or enjoy free time myself!!!

The integration with Xero is very poor right now.  So it's limiting who I can use with Uncat.

No more emails going back in forth and excel spreadsheets to save.  Descriptions provided by clients are saved directly in QBO.  So much time saved.

Being able to quickly request clarification from clients for transactions is a great tool to have at your disposal. Similarly, being able to add vendor, class, etc to already categorized transactions helps clean up the books.

The software functions well for its intended purpose, only downside is that function is not a large necessity with our current client base.

Needing to get clarity from clients when the nature of a transaction is not readily apparent from the details available on the bank statement.

My clients love that that can easily see which transaction that need to give me information about and there’s no login, just use the magic link from any device. I love how easy it is to the client settings are. Takes very little time to setup new clients.

No downside that I've seen in the last few months I've been using it.

Communication, time, and record keeping. So much less time writing emails and the description and receipts transfers over to QBO so I have a record of their responses.

Our clients love not getting those annoying spreadsheets anymore. Easily getting what's needed and answering back to us. LOVE IT!!

Really nothing, I would love to see when the COA can be updated in Uncat and sync to Xero, but it is fine now.

It is saving a ton of time not having to transfer items in question to a spreadsheet and then sending to the client. That was such a huge headache for all involved.

I haven't found any downsides to uncat yet!

Uncat solves the issue of an abundance of uncategorized transactions building up and having to email the client with a spreadsheet and the going back in to QuickBooks to update the transactions. Uncat makes it a quick and easy task.

That you can easily send the clients a Magic link so they don't have to create a login!

I wish we didn't have to categorize in categorized transactions to an account like "uncategorized expenses" that we need to ask clients about (makes more work on the backend to undo these in QuickBooks later).

**What do you like best about Uncat?**

Like most accountants, I find myself sending a spreadsheet full of questions to my clients at the end of each period. Waiting for these responses typically creates a bottleneck every month. With Uncat, I'm able to get those answers in real time rather than being forced to wait for a client to track down the answers days or weeks after EOM.

**What do you dislike about Uncat?**

Since using Uncat changed my workflow, I had to spend a little time getting each client to adapt to the new system. It was never hard to onboard anyone, it was just a small step that had to be addressed before I really gained the efficiency I was looking for. All smooth sailing after month one!

**What problems is Uncat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer have to pass the spreadsheet back and forth at the end of month. I can now close out the month without a back and forth. Before I could do about 90% then I'd always be stuck waiting on that last 10% of information.

**What do you like best about Uncat?**

I like that instead of emailing, texting, or sending a spreadsheet to my client each month with a list of expenses I need help categorizing, instead, I can just code them to Uncategorized Expenses in my general ledger in Quickbooks Online, and then Uncat automatically creates an interactive dashboard for my client to add attachments, notes, and even get their co-workers involved in the process!  It's easy for the client to know when they have "completed" something, and I'm able to double check it's categorization on the back end.  It's a win-win for everyone!

**What do you dislike about Uncat?**

The only downside is that from the client's perspective, it's one more software they have to interact with, so there's a small learning curve at the beginning to walk them through how to use it correctly (BUT - Uncat has done a really great job of providing resources, like manuals and video walkthroughs, so that makes it pretty smooth!).

**Recommendations to others considering Uncat:**

If you're looking to save 30 min each month per client (based on the amount of back and forth time, copying the information/attachments to your accounting software and then reclassifying uncategorized expenses), then Uncat is definitely for you. 

If you have clients who are comfortable with software applications (and aren't email only type clients), Uncat is for you. 

My time is definitely worth more than the registration cost per client per month, so it's a no-brainer in my mind to use it.

**What problems is Uncat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to have to chase down my clients for answers on expenses - they tell me something and then I have to email them back, "okay, now can I have an attachment for that?".  This eliminates that back and forth.  It also eliminates them wondering if they have a giant list of expenses waiting for them - when we have some, each week they will get the list of what's out there.  Now they don't have to wait on me to send it, and I don't have to wait for them to email me back and then transfer the information to Quickbooks Online.  I just go to Uncat, complete the categorization there, and Quickbooks Online is updated automatically!

Using Uncat has made it so easy for us to get information from clients about transactions for which we have questions. Clients find it super easy to use as well.

I have absolutely nothing (yet) that I dislike about Uncat. It has solved many process issues for our firm.

**What problems is Uncat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been sending Excel spreadsheets back and forth with transactions that need clarification and then had to take the time to make the updates in QBO based on the clients' responses. Now, when the client provides answers, we quickly and easily categorize the transaction from the Uncat dashboard, and updates sync almost instantly with QBO -- no more duplicating work! Clients love the easy interface!

I love how easy it is. With automated reminders, our bookkeeper doesn't have to chase down my team and manage excel sheets, etc. It automatically syncs with Quickbooks so it makes the whole process seamless!
