# Diabolocom vs PCIPal: which contact center payments platform is better for straightforward phone-based payment collection?

Hi G2, I've been comparing these two for a shortlist, and the question as given is Diabolocom vs PCIPal: which contact center payments platform is better for straightforward phone-based payment collection? What I found working through the contact center payments category is that I was comparing a phone system against a payment layer, and I also found an evidence gap on each side that anyone making this choice deserves to know about. Here's how the two compare:

PCIPal (4.7 stars, 22 reviews): The purpose-built half of this pair: secure payment capture designed specifically for contact center environments across voice and digital channels (vendor-stated), carrying the category's strongest rating on its largest genuinely payments-focused base, with an enterprise-and-mid-market reviewer mix. For straightforward phone-based payment collection, this is the product shape the phrase describes, a layer that adds compliant card capture to the calls you already take. The gap on its side: none of its reviews landed in my twelve-month pulls, so the 4.7 is history awaiting a current reference to confirm it.

Diabolocom (4.3 stars, 34 reviews): The platform half: a full cloud contact center with its own telecom infrastructure, and its recent evidence is genuinely good at being that, seven current reviews crediting dialer reliability, Salesforce CTI, swift supported deployments, and European data sovereignty, alongside cons of configuration complexity, pricing (from $60 to $99 per named license, verified live), reporting gaps, and one blunt review calling technical promises unkept. The gap on its side is the one that decides this question: not one of those seven recent reviews mentions taking a payment, so on current G2 evidence its payment collection capability is a category listing plus platform APIs, not a documented user experience.

Putting the two gaps side by side settles the question as asked, in my read: straightforward phone-based payment collection is PCIPal's entire stated existence and Diabolocom's undocumented sideline, so if you already run phones and want payments, the layer product is the straightforward answer by definition, pending one current reference call to close its recency gap. The comparison only inverts if you're actually shopping for the phone system itself, in which case you're not really asking this question, you're asking a contact center platform question where Diabolocom's recent evidence is strong, and your payment workflow gets solved by demanding a live payment demo on it or by putting a layer like PCIPal on top of it, which is not an either-or at all.

So my verdict, as asked, is PCIPal for straightforward phone-based payment collection on product shape and rated history, with its current experience verified by reference, and Diabolocom only when the purchase is really the platform, with its payment capability proven live in the demo because its own reviewers haven't yet described it. Has anyone actually run payment collection through Diabolocom natively, or paired PCIPal with it? Either experience posted here would fill the exact gaps this comparison suffers from.

These two are solving different problems, which is what makes the comparison a bit awkward. PCIPal is purpose-built for adding compliant card capture to calls you're already taking. Diabolocom is a full contact center platform that also happens to sit in this category. If you already have phone infrastructure and you're looking to add payments, PCIPal is the more direct answer. If you're actually in the market for a phone system and want payments as part of it, that's a different decision entirely.
